- • As a Senior Java Developer at Julius Baer Group Ltd., you will design and evolve robust distributed financial systems that are critical to the bank’s wealth management operations, ensuring scalability, low latency, high availability, and fault tolerance in mission-critical environments.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include developing and maintaining high-performance backend services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot; optimizing end-to-end latency and asynchronous processing; identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks through profiling and load testing; integrating complex financial platforms and third-party services while ensuring data integrity and operational resilience; designing reliable messaging and integration flows using JPA, JDBC, JMS, and event-driven patterns; and upholding code quality through clean, maintainable code, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices.
- • You will join a globally distributed engineering team based in Zurich and Singapore, working within Julius Baer’s innovative wealth management division that values entrepreneurial spirit, individual impact, and technical excellence in shaping the future of financial services.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems and financial-grade engineering, gain hands-on experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevOps practices, while contributing to systems that directly impact client trust and business reliability in a high-stakes financial environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Extensive experience with Java (Core Java, Collections, JSON, JDBC), Spring Framework, and Spring Boot
- • Proven expertise in designing and operating distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and low-latency, high-availability services
- • Experience with databases and messaging technologies including JPA, JDBC, relational databases, and JMS
- • Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems and bash scripting
- • Familiarity with security concepts such as OAuth2, API security, and IAM
- • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines
