Senior Lead Engineer

📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end technical delivery of enterprise-scale data and AI initiatives for Fortune 1000 clients, translating complex business problems into elegant, cloud-native architectures that unlock measurable growth and efficiency gains.
• • Lead and mentor distributed squads of 4-8 senior and mid-level engineers, setting code-quality standards, defining best practices for CI/CD, IaC, and automated testing, and ensuring every release meets OneSix’s reputation for bullet-proof reliability and security.
• • Architect and implement modern data stacks on AWS and Snowflake, leveraging partner technologies such as Matillion, Fivetran, dbt, and Pyramid Analytics to ingest, transform, and serve petabyte-scale data with sub-second latency for both analytical and operational workloads.
• • Drive the adoption of MLOps and AI engineering patterns—feature stores, model registries, real-time inference pipelines, and responsible-AI governance—so that data science models move seamlessly from Jupyter notebooks to production systems that scale to millions of predictions per day.
• • Act as the primary technical advisor to client CTOs, CDOs, and VPs of Engineering, translating strategic roadmaps into phased execution plans, budget forecasts, and risk-mitigation strategies that secure executive buy-in and long-term partnership renewals.
• • Establish and monitor SLAs, SLOs, and cost-optimization guardrails across multi-account AWS estates, using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK) to ensure every environment is reproducible, secure, and auditable.
• • Champion a culture of continuous learning by hosting internal guilds, brown-bag sessions, and hackathons that keep the OneSix engineering community at the forefront of emerging trends in data engineering, machine learning, and generative AI.
• • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, UX designers, and business stakeholders to prioritize backlogs, refine user stories, and deliver incremental value every two weeks through disciplined agile ceremonies and transparent metrics.
• • Contribute to OneSix’s open-source initiatives and thought-leadership content—whitepapers, conference talks, and blog posts—that position the company as the go-to authority for next-generation data and AI solutions.
• • Ensure compliance with SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR requirements by embedding privacy-by-design principles, data-lineage tracking, and automated policy enforcement into every layer of the stack.
• • Own the technical sales cycle alongside account executives, delivering compelling architecture walkthroughs, proof-of-concept builds, and ROI models that shorten deal cycles and expand average contract values.
• • Foster an inclusive, remote-first culture where engineers from diverse backgrounds feel empowered to experiment, fail fast, and grow their careers through personalized development plans and transparent promotion pathways.
