Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As Senior Manager, Biz Ops - Marketplace Integrations at WorkWhile Inc., you will own the end-to-end integrity of the company’s most complex operational workflows, serving as the critical bridge between operations, product, engineering, finance, and go-to-market teams to ensure scalable, accurate, and profitable enterprise integrations. This role is central to WorkWhile’s evolution from a labor marketplace into a comprehensive workforce platform, where your work directly impacts the reliability of invoicing, payment accuracy, and customer trust in high-stakes Vendor Management System (VMS) integrations.
- • You will act as the operational owner and business driver for all VMS integrations, holding Product and Engineering accountable for reliability, scalability, and roadmap prioritization by translating operational pain points, edge cases, and invoicing requirements into clear product specifications while maintaining a living view of integration gaps and their financial impact.
- • You will design and implement the commercial and policy controls governing enterprise operations, including payment release protocols, exception handling, and escalation paths, partnering closely with GTM and Finance to ensure new enterprise customers are onboarded with clean execution from day one and that growth models reflect real-world operational constraints.
- • You will lead the rebuild of WorkWhile’s VMS reconciliation processes in collaboration with data science and finance teams, owning timesheet matching, worker identity validation, break/pay rate verification, and exception handling — the core drivers of accurate invoicing and collections — while defining and maintaining rigorous data quality standards, audit trails, and reconciliation dashboards.
- • You will lead and develop a small team executing day-to-day VMS workflows, establishing operating cadence, metrics, and visibility into channel health, while defining an automation roadmap that converts manual processes into product requirements, enabling the team to shift toward higher-leverage activities without linear headcount growth.
- • You will partner with Product and Engineering to evaluate and define the long-term integration architecture vision, advocating for smart architectural tradeoffs based on deep understanding of APIs, data pipelines, and reconciliation systems — even without writing code — to raise the ceiling on what the function can achieve through systems thinking and process innovation.
- • You will operate at the intersection of ops, product, engineering, and finance with real authority, using your analytical foundation (including SQL or close collaboration with data teams) to build and pressure-test models, assess unit economics, pricing, and margin implications, and communicate structured, clear insights across stakeholders to drive alignment and execution.
- • You will mentor and develop early-career team members, fostering a culture of ownership, curiosity, and impact in a mission-driven environment where your contributions over the next 12 months will shape how WorkWhile scales its enterprise marketplace integrations for years to come.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of experience in BizOps, strategy & operations, or technical program management — ideally at a marketplace, staffing tech, or usage-based business model
- • Strong analytical foundation — comfortable with SQL or able to work closely with data teams to build, validate, and pressure-test models independently
- • Experience owning or driving systems integrations in a non-engineering capacity — understanding APIs, data pipelines, and reconciliation systems well enough to discuss architectural tradeoffs and prioritize engineering efforts
- • Demonstrated ability to design operational controls and policy frameworks — not just execute them — including payment release controls, exception handling, and commercial term governance
- • Commercial instincts — ability to think critically about unit economics, pricing, margin, and profitability beyond process efficiency
- • Clear, structured communicator who can effectively collaborate across ops, product, engineering, finance, and GTM stakeholders
- • Experience managing or developing early-career team members
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary + equity in a high-growth, venture-backed company backed by Khosla Ventures and recognized by Inc. 5000
- • Hybrid work culture with office hubs in SF, NY, Seattle, and Toronto — remote work possible for the right candidate
- • Medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with employer match; unlimited PTO; WFH stipend for home office setup
- • In-person company off-sites and access to a diverse, mission-driven, supportive culture that values ownership, ambiguity tolerance, and lasting impact
