  • • Cylinder Health Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Senior Manager of Accounting to spearhead and manage our accounting operations. This is a pivotal, hands-on role designed for a seasoned accounting leader who thrives on both detailed execution and strategic oversight. As a rapidly scaling company in the healthtech sector, Cylinder offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact our financial infrastructure, enhance your professional skills, and grow within an innovative organization.
  • • In this critical position, you will be entrusted with the complete ownership and execution of our monthly close process. This includes the meticulous preparation, thorough review, and accurate posting of all journal entries, alongside comprehensive account reconciliations. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the integrity and timeliness of our financial reporting.
  • • A core responsibility will be the preparation and reconciliation of all material balance sheet accounts. This encompasses a wide range of accounts, including cash, credit cards, intercompany balances, equity, prepaid expenses, and accruals. Your diligent work will ensure a clear and accurate snapshot of the company's financial position.
  • • You will manage the capitalization, amortization, and reconciliation of commissions and other prepaid or deferred costs. This requires a deep understanding of financial principles and the ability to track complex financial instruments over time.
  • • A significant aspect of the role involves the accurate recording and reconciliation of revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled revenue, strictly adhering to ASC 606 standards. Your proficiency in revenue recognition will be paramount to maintaining compliance and financial accuracy.
  • • You will oversee the application of cash receipts, perform detailed accounts receivable reconciliations, and maintain the allowance for doubtful accounts, ensuring robust management of our revenue cycle.
  • • Direct oversight and review of all cash activities are essential, including accounts payable, payroll disbursements, cash receipts, and interbank transfers. Your vigilance will safeguard the company's liquidity and financial transactions.
  • • A key duty involves the detailed review of payroll runs and the preparation or review of all associated payroll-related journal entries and accruals. This ensures accurate accounting for our most valuable asset – our people.
  • • You will be responsible for recording and reconciling inventory changes, lease amortization, and stock-based compensation, providing a comprehensive view of the company's financial commitments and equity.
  • • The execution and reconciliation of intercompany transactions will be a critical function, ensuring seamless financial alignment across different entities or departments.
  • • Preparation of monthly financial statements will be a regular deliverable, complemented by ad hoc reporting and insightful analysis to empower leadership decision-making. Your ability to translate financial data into actionable business intelligence will be highly valued.
  • • You will serve as the primary, hands-on point of contact for all external audits. This requires strong communication skills, meticulous organization, and the ability to present financial information clearly and confidently.
  • • A crucial part of this role is identifying and implementing process improvements. You will proactively seek opportunities to enhance accuracy, boost efficiency, and ensure the scalability of our accounting functions as the company continues its rapid growth trajectory.
  • • This position is ideal for an accounting professional who is comfortable operating in a player-coach capacity, personally handling detailed tasks while also providing guidance and oversight. You should possess a strong sense of ownership, be highly detail-oriented, organized, and proactive. The ability to thrive in evolving systems, build processes from the ground up, and balance speed with accuracy in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities is essential. Excellent communication skills, both with finance and non-finance stakeholders, are a must, as is a continuous improvement mindset.
