- • Direct Manufacturing Engineering activities by integrating new manufacturing locations and acquired businesses into DAA’s standardized manufacturing systems and processes.
- • Lead factory start-up initiatives with comprehensive project management oversight, ensuring timely and efficient operational deployment.
- • Coordinate improvements in production techniques, equipment utilization, and employee effectiveness through implementation of Lean manufacturing principles and Demand Flow Technology.
- • Serve as the lead facilitator for Factory Master Plan and Standard Work development across all Business Units.
- • Identify and standardize core manufacturing processes to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality across global operations.
- • Evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies, including Factory 4.0 and AI/IT solutions, to enhance productivity, capability, and quality.
- • Lead capital planning and new technology launches across Business Units, including evaluation of equipment investment options and preparation of purchase recommendations.
- • Conduct Core/Non-Core analysis of manufacturing and purchased materials to optimize sourcing and production strategies.
- • Utilize work measurement tools to analyze labor samples, estimate production times, and determine staffing requirements for management decision-making.
- • Analyze operational data including workforce utilization, facility layout, and workflow to design optimized equipment and workspace layouts aligned with Lean principles.
- • Recommend methods to improve worker safety, ergonomics, and quality while reducing costs through workflow reorganization, workstation relocation, and equipment upgrades.
- • Collaborate with management teams to develop Operational Method Sheets, training checklists, and training matrices for standardized process execution.
- • Partner with Safety Managers to identify and implement safe manufacturing procedures and enhance ergonomic design in production environments.
- • Participate in cross-functional product design teams to provide design for manufacturability input, establish production procedures, and define measurement parameters for new products.
- • Specify equipment and tooling designs for new and existing production processes, obtain vendor quotes, and submit recommendations for procurement.
- • Forecast department operating costs and direct the preparation of annual budget requests.
- • Provide technical manufacturing engineering expertise and support to Business Units during continuous improvement and cost-down initiatives, often serving as team leader.
- • Mentor and guide engineering staff in the execution of engineering duties, fostering professional development and technical excellence.
- • Serve in leadership roles on organizational initiatives, including acting as facilitator or trainer for key operational programs.
- • Maintain current knowledge of emerging manufacturing technologies and develop strategic recommendations for operational improvement.
- • Ensure all manufacturing systems remain operational, efficient, and aligned with company policies, continuous improvement goals, and engineering standards.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Technology, Industrial Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical/engineering field
- • 8+ years of applicable manufacturing engineering experience, including 5+ years of people leadership experience
- • Proven engineering management experience, preferably in sheet metal fabrication and assembly using advanced manufacturing processes including cellular manufacturing and Demand Flow Technology
