Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead a high-impact team of Payroll Onboarding Consultants who shepherd new customers through the critical first 90 days of their Remote payroll journey—transforming complex global employment setups into seamless, compliant operations across 180+ countries.
- • Own the end-to-end onboarding P&L: define quarterly OKRs, forecast capacity, and continuously optimize the funnel from signed contract to first successful payroll run, driving measurable reductions in time-to-value and customer churn.
- • Act as the primary escalation point for nuanced multi-country payroll scenarios—think equity vesting schedules in Germany, 13th-month salary in Brazil, or shadow payroll for assignees in Singapore—translating intricate legislation into clear, actionable playbooks for your consultants and customers.
- • Build and scale repeatable yet flexible onboarding frameworks: design SOPs, craft automated email sequences, and implement in-app guidance that cut manual touchpoints by 40 % while preserving the white-glove experience that Remote’s mid-market and enterprise clients expect.
- • Partner daily with Sales, Implementation Engineering, Product, and Compliance to surface onboarding blockers and co-create product enhancements; your voice directly influences roadmap priorities that affect thousands of distributed teams.
- • Coach, mentor, and level-up a globally distributed team (Americas, EMEA, APAC) through weekly 1:1s, monthly skill labs, and quarterly career-pathing sessions—turning junior payroll enthusiasts into sought-after global employment advisors.
- • Instrument the onboarding journey with data: define KPIs (days-to-first-payroll, NPS at day 30, consultant utilization), build Looker dashboards, and run fortnightly retros to iterate rapidly—celebrating wins and dissecting misses in equal measure.
- • Serve as the external face of Remote onboarding: host C-level onboarding kickoffs, present at quarterly business reviews, and produce thought-leadership content (blogs, webinars, templates) that positions Remote as the definitive authority on global payroll best practices.
- • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within your team and across customer engagements—ensuring that every process we build accommodates varied cultural norms, currencies, and legislative contexts without bias.
- • Stay ahead of shifting global regulations—whether it’s the EU’s DAC7 directive, Canada’s digital services tax, or evolving remote-work visa schemes—and translate these changes into proactive guidance that keeps customers compliant and confident.
- • Foster a culture of experimentation: pilot AI-driven payroll validation tools, beta-test new API integrations, and run A/B tests on onboarding cadences—turning Remote’s onboarding engine into a living lab for global employment innovation.
- • Report to the Director of Customer Success and sit on the CS Leadership Team, contributing to company-wide strategy while maintaining the gritty, sleeves-rolled-up mindset required to unblock any customer, anywhere, anytime.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of progressive experience in global payroll, HR operations, or customer onboarding—ideally within a SaaS or fintech environment serving multinational clients.
- • Demonstrated leadership of distributed teams (≥5 direct reports) across multiple time zones, with a track record of hitting aggressive onboarding KPIs and employee engagement scores.
- • Deep, hands-on knowledge of international payroll legislation, statutory benefits, and equity taxation across at least three major regions (e.g., North America, EMEA, APAC).
- • Fluency in modern onboarding and CS tooling: Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Looker, Slack, Notion, or equivalents; SQL literacy is a strong plus.
- • Exceptional stakeholder management—comfortable presenting to CFOs, CHROs, and CTOs, and equally adept at translating technical constraints into business impact narratives.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Work from anywhere with a generous home-office stipend and quarterly travel credits to meet your team in person.
- • Unlimited PTO with a mandatory minimum of 20 days, plus Remote-observed holidays in every country where we operate.
- • Comprehensive global health, dental, and mental-wellness coverage for you and your dependents—100 % company-paid, zero payroll deductions.
- • Stock-option program that vests quarterly from day one, aligning your upside with Remote’s mission to unlock global talent.
- • Annual learning & development budget of USD 3,500 plus paid attendance at leading payroll and SaaS conferences.
