Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Be the backbone of a Fortune 500 market leader. As a Warehouse Worker at LKQ’s Columbus, OH distribution center, you will keep millions of vehicle parts flowing to body shops, dealerships, and DIY customers across North America. Every scan, pick, and pallet you move directly impacts how quickly a family gets their car back on the road—your accuracy and speed power our promise of “Right Part, Right Place, Right Time.”
- • Own your day from the moment the gates open. You’ll start with a quick safety huddle, grab your RF scanner, and head to the receiving dock where today’s 20+ trailers wait. You’ll unload, verify counts, and “put away” thousands of SKUs into 36-foot-high rack locations using swing-reach or order-picker forklifts—no two aisles are ever the same.
- • Become a master of inventory precision. Using LKQ’s WMS, you’ll scan barcodes, audit locations, and cycle-count on the fly to maintain 99.8 % accuracy. When a body shop calls asking for a 2017 Honda Civic headlamp, your earlier put-away ensures the system shows “available” and the pick ticket prints in under 60 seconds.
- • Pick & stage like a pro. You’ll multi-zone pick up to 200 lines per hour—small chrome clips to 75-lb steel bumpers—then build custom pallets, apply haz-mat labels, and shrink-wrap to DOT standards. Your staged freight is loaded onto our fleet of 24-ft box trucks and 53-ft semis, ready for next-day delivery to 500-mile radius customers.
- • Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT) safely and efficiently. You’ll be certified onsite on sit-down forklifts, order pickers, and electric pallet jacks. Daily pre-trip inspections, battery swaps, and damage reports keep your equipment—and teammates—running smoothly.
- • Champion 5S housekeeping. You’ll sweep aisles, wipe down rails, and return empty pallets to the rack—creating a clean, audit-ready environment that earned this site LKQ’s “Gold Warehouse” designation three years running.
- • Embrace continuous improvement. You’ll submit Kaizen ideas, test new pick paths, and cross-train in shipping, returns, and core processing. Top performers join our Fast-Track program and can promote to Team Lead within 12 months.
- • Thrive in a climate-controlled, safety-first culture. Daily stretch-and-flex, PPE allowances, and leadership “walk-abouts” ensure you go home in the same condition you arrived. Plus, you’ll earn daily pay access, tuition reimbursement, and full benefits on day one—because your growth matters as much as your output.
🎯 Requirements
- • 0–1 year warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics experience (forklift certification a plus but not required; we train)
- • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 75 lbs repeatedly and stand/walk on concrete up to 10 hours
- • Basic math & computer skills—comfortable using RF scanners and reading decimal measurements
- • High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required if experience demonstrated
- • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and periodic local travel as business demands
🏖️ Benefits
- • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and fertility coverage starting day one
- • 401(k) with generous 6 % company match and 100 % immediate vesting
- • Paid parental leave, short-term & long-term disability, company-paid life insurance
- • PTO plus tuition reimbursement up to $5,250/year and daily pay access through PNC
- • Employee discounts on auto parts, tool purchase programs, and EAP mental-health support
