  • • Lead end-to-end HR operations including contracts, onboarding, offboarding, payroll liaison, benefits administration, and employee records in full compliance with Kenyan labour laws (Employment Act 2007, Data Protection Act, OSHA, NSSF/NHIF).
  • • Own policy development, HR audits, and documentation to ensure zero material compliance risk and maintain accurate, digitized HR records using HRIS tools such as BambooHR, Hibob, or Sage HR.
  • • Build and maintain monthly People dashboards tracking headcount, turnover, engagement, and hiring velocity to inform strategic workforce decisions.
  • • Lead high-volume talent acquisition across fintech, technology, and commercial operations, managing sourcing strategy through offer negotiation with a target time-to-hire under 30 days.
  • • Design and implement onboarding frameworks and 90-day integration plans to achieve 95%+ completion rates and drive new hire engagement.
  • • Develop and sustain talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill roles within high-growth fintech environments.
  • • Drive annual and mid-year performance cycles including calibration, feedback processes, MBO alignment, and individual development plans.
  • • Coach senior leaders on performance management, difficult conversations, and high-stakes people decisions using frameworks such as DISC to improve team dynamics and leadership effectiveness.
  • • Manage complex employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, restructures, and terminations with legal rigour, fairness, and speed.
  • • Serve as a trusted, confidential advisor to employees at all levels, balancing employee advocacy with organizational risk and business objectives.
  • • Partner with the Head of People & Culture, COO, and Country Manager on organisational design, headcount planning, and team restructures to support 50%+ headcount growth.
  • • Build scalable structures including clear reporting lines, accountability frameworks, and role levelling architecture to enable sustainable organizational expansion.
  • • Act as acting Head of People & Culture when required, stepping into strategic leadership responsibilities for the entire People function.
  • • Maintain deep expertise in Kenyan employment law and proactively manage compliance risks across all HR processes.
  • • Leverage HRIS, ATS, Google Workspace, and people analytics tools to drive data-informed decisions and process improvements.
  • • Operate with execution excellence by building processes from scratch, owning outcomes, and delivering results under ambiguity and high-growth pressure.
  • • Demonstrate exceptional emotional intelligence in navigating sensitive stakeholder dynamics, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • • Maintain resilience and composure in fast-paced, high-stakes environments characterized by rapid scaling and operational complexity.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5–7 years in HR/People & Culture with 2–3 years in a senior HRBP, HR Manager, or equivalent leadership role
  • • Proven track record in managing disciplinaries, restructures, high-volume hiring, and Kenyan labour law compliance
  • • Hands-on experience implementing or managing an HRIS (BambooHR, Hibob, Sage HR or similar)
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field
  • • Fintech, financial services, or high-growth tech/startup environment exposure strongly preferred
  • • Relevant local HR certification is a strong advantage
