📋 Description
- • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for specific commodity groups or strategic supplier categories to optimize cost, quality, and supply chain performance.
- • Manage end-to-end relationships with multiple strategic suppliers, ensuring alignment with Carrier’s global standards for delivery, quality, and cost efficiency.
- • Lead complex supplier negotiations to secure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions while fostering mutually beneficial, long-term partnerships.
- • Coordinate closely with supplier quality teams to address commodity-specific issues, conduct relentless root cause analysis, and implement error-proofing solutions to minimize business impact.
- • Evaluate, select, and onboard new suppliers, while actively narrowing and rationalizing the supplier base to enhance performance and reduce risk.
- • Ensure all sourcing activities comply with applicable federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- • Manage large-scale spend across multiple global sites and regions, leveraging data-driven insights to drive category strategy and cost savings.
- • Build and maintain strong cross-functional stakeholder relationships with engineering, operations, finance, and quality teams to align sourcing initiatives with business objectives.
- • Operate with high autonomy in a fast-paced, global, matrixed environment, adapting strategies to evolving market conditions and organizational needs.
- • Apply technical understanding of industrial categories to inform sourcing decisions and supplier evaluations.
- • Communicate effectively in English across multicultural teams and geographies to ensure clarity, alignment, and execution of sourcing strategies.
- • Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance metrics, inventory reduction, and total cost of ownership optimization.
- • Support Carrier’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and ethical sourcing practices through responsible supplier management.
- • Contribute to the development of category roadmaps that align with global business priorities and long-term supply chain resilience goals.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies impacting strategic sourcing.
- • Ensure transparency and accountability in all procurement activities, adhering to Carrier’s governance and compliance frameworks.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field
- • 8–10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management, preferably within international and matrixed organizations
- • Proven ability to build and execute category strategies in complex, evolving environments
- • Experience managing large spend across multiple sites or regions
- • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- • Excellent communication skills in a multicultural environment with English as the working language
