  • • As Marqeta's Senior Manager, Technical Recruiting, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our organization by leading a dedicated team of recruiters. Your primary focus will be on attracting and securing top-tier talent for our critical Product and Engineering departments, ensuring Marqeta continues to innovate and lead in the dynamic fintech space.
  • • You will be responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of a team of technical recruiters, guiding them to achieve ambitious hiring goals. This leadership role extends to overseeing recruitment for positions up to the Senior Director level, ensuring a consistent and high-quality talent acquisition process.
  • • In addition to managing your team, you will also personally handle complex searches, particularly for Director-level and above roles. This hands-on approach allows you to stay connected to the nuances of technical recruiting and provide expert guidance on challenging requisitions.
  • • A key aspect of your role will be partnering directly with C-level leaders within Product and Engineering. You will serve as a trusted advisor, providing strategic insights and recommendations on all aspects of their hiring strategies, workforce planning, and talent acquisition initiatives.
  • • You will leverage data and metrics to drive informed decision-making across the recruiting function. By analyzing key performance indicators, you will influence processes, refine outcomes, and demonstrate the impact of the recruiting team's efforts on business objectives.
  • • Develop, implement, and continuously iterate on strategic hiring plans tailored to the specific needs of the Product and Engineering business groups. This involves forecasting talent needs, identifying potential challenges, and proactively developing solutions.
  • • Lead and champion team-wide projects and programs aimed at enhancing the recruitment function. This includes refining recruitment processes, optimizing the use of recruiting tools and technologies, developing compelling employer branding initiatives, and improving overall candidate experience.
  • • Actively coach, mentor, and develop your team members. Foster a highly collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture where every individual feels a sense of belonging, empowerment, and continuous growth. Provide regular feedback and support to help each recruiter reach their full potential.
  • • Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with senior leadership across Product and Engineering, as well as with other cross-functional stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and Legal, to ensure seamless talent acquisition.
  • • Oversee the strategic development of hiring strategies for critical roles and profiles. Ensure the implementation of fair, consistent, and effective structured interview processes that accurately assess candidate qualifications and cultural fit.
  • • Take ownership of complex offer negotiations, providing expert guidance to recruiters and hiring managers on compensation, benefits, and equity packages. Ensure offers are competitive, equitable, and aligned with Marqeta's compensation philosophy.
  • • Proactively develop and maintain robust talent pipelines for key technical roles. Utilize a diverse range of sourcing channels, conduct in-depth market research, and lead collaborative sourcing efforts to identify and engage passive candidates.
  • • Champion diversity and inclusion by ensuring a healthy, representative pipeline of candidates across all roles. Implement strategies to attract and hire talent from underrepresented groups, contributing to Marqeta's commitment to building a diverse workforce.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 10+ years of progressive experience in full-life cycle technical recruiting.
  • • Minimum of 3 years of direct people management experience, leading and developing recruiting teams.
  • • Proven track record of executing high levels of productivity and developing high-performing recruiting teams, preferably within fast-paced, product-led tech companies.
  • • Demonstrated experience in driving strategic sourcing and recruitment initiatives, as well as optimizing recruitment processes and tools.
