📋 Description

• Produce, polish, and review marketing copy across diverse formats including press releases, campaign emails, product and integration web pages, partner announcements, event materials, FAQs, boilerplate variants, and in-product strings.
• Serve as the final reviewer for day-to-day marketing copy, ensuring tone, factual accuracy, brand consistency, and adherence to Apify’s voice across all channels.
• Propose and implement updates to the Apify style guide and brand tone references based on recurring issues, gaps, or contradictions observed in published copy.
• Run an editorial quality program by sampling published marketing content to detect voice and positioning drift, logging recurring issues, and driving systemic fixes to prevent recurrence.
• Align terminology and brand voice across marketing surfaces by collaborating with SEO, product marketing, social media, and partnerships teams to ensure consistent product messaging.
• Support brand-led campaigns with execution-level copy across multiple formats, adapting tone and language to match campaign objectives while maintaining brand integrity.
• Build and maintain working relationships with press contacts and partner communications leads to co-produce copy and ensure alignment on messaging.
• Manage high-volume, structured web copy production using content management systems, spreadsheets, and character-limited formats, ensuring terminology consistency and technical accuracy.
• Use AI tools daily to draft, transform, and batch content, while editing AI-generated output for judgment, risk, brand alignment, and voice—reporting or fixing systemic quality issues in AI workflows.
• Turn briefs into clean, on-brand first drafts independently, asking clarifying questions and delivering work efficiently without over-reliance on feedback loops.
• Negotiate priorities and deadlines with stakeholders across marketing, product, developer relations, and technical teams when competing demands arise.
• Maintain brand consistency during positioning shifts by adapting copy in real time and flagging misalignments before publication.
• Work with structured content, metadata, and strict character limits, using tools like Notion, Google Docs, spreadsheets, and GitHub for collaboration and version control.
• Write confidently for a developer-adjacent audience, comfortably navigating topics like APIs, data extraction, web scraping, and AI integrations without requiring technical hand-holding.
• Embrace a production-minded, fast-paced workflow, prioritizing velocity and completion while upholding a senior professional standard for quality and precision.
• Edit rough, outdated, or machine-generated drafts into accurate, on-brand copy without treating the source material as someone else’s responsibility.
• Operate with minimal supervision after onboarding, managing your own pipeline, prioritizing tasks, and escalating only when messaging requires strategic judgment beyond existing guidelines.
• Deliver end-to-end copy projects from brief to publication within the first month, including completing a technical onboarding demo of the Apify platform and CLI.
• Establish a consistent editorial review rhythm and propose the first concrete style guide updates within the first three months.
• Represent the content function in cross-team planning for campaign timelines, copy ownership, and brief negotiation with PMM, partnerships, and social leads.
• Maintain availability during European business hours and be responsive on Slack, with flexibility to support US schedule needs when required.
• Work in a version-controlled environment using Markdown, with familiarity or willingness to adopt editors like VS Code, Obsidian, or Zed.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a marketing or communications writer in B2B or technical SaaS, with demonstrated work across short and long-form copy
• Proven ownership of brand voice and editorial quality for a team or product, including proposing and implementing style guide updates
• Native or near-native English proficiency with exceptional attention to detail, grammar, and brand consistency
• Comfort working with developer-adjacent audiences and technical topics such as APIs, data extraction, and integrations
• Experience using content management systems, collaborative docs (Notion, Google Docs), spreadsheets, and version control (GitHub)
• Ability to edit AI-generated content for voice, risk, and accuracy, and to improve AI workflows when quality issues arise
