📋 Description
- • Develops medical/dental and reimbursement policies for coverage guidance of new drugs, technology, medical/dental procedures and clinical codes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting healthcare coverage decisions.
- • Initiates and coordinates internal and external reviews of policies, gathers scientific literature and regulatory data, analyzes claims and coding systems, and prepares policy drafts for organizational use.
- • Works within the Healthcare Division of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, a mission-driven organization focused on improving health and well-being for North Carolinians through innovative health solutions.
- • Gains expertise in healthcare policy, clinical coding, regulatory compliance, and benefit design while serving as a subject matter expert influencing internal and external stakeholders.
🎯 Requirements
- • RN, LPN or Dental Assistant credential based on area of focus
- • 3+ years of experience in a related field such as clinical practice, medical coding, or healthcare policy
- • AAPC Certified Professional Coder certification
