We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Medical Science Liaison (Senior MSL) to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our Medical Affairs strategy within the Northeast region.
• • As a Senior MSL, you will be a key field-based representative, acting as the scientific and medical interface between Xenon and the external healthcare community. Your primary focus will be to engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare providers (HCPs), academic institutions, payors, and patient advocacy groups to provide comprehensive and accurate scientific and medical information regarding Xenon’s exciting pipeline, with a particular emphasis on our epilepsy programs.
• • You will be instrumental in educating stakeholders on the scientific rationale, clinical data, and therapeutic potential of our investigational products, including our lead program, azetukalner, a potassium channel modulator in late-stage clinical development for epilepsy and major depressive disorder. Your deep scientific understanding and exceptional communication skills will be crucial in fostering meaningful scientific exchange and advancing the understanding of our innovative therapies.
• • A significant aspect of your role will involve identifying, developing, and nurturing robust, long-term scientific relationships with influential KOLs and HCPs within your assigned territory. This includes understanding their clinical practice, research interests, and the evolving needs of patients and their families. By actively listening and engaging, you will gain valuable insights that inform Xenon’s medical strategies and product development efforts.
• • You will serve as a critical scientific resource, disseminating up-to-date medical and clinical information about Xenon’s neurology and epilepsy portfolio. This involves presenting complex scientific data in a clear, concise, and credible manner, adapting your communication style to suit diverse audiences, from researchers to clinicians.
• • A key responsibility is to advance Xenon’s scientific platform and medical information dissemination in alignment with our overarching corporate and medical objectives. You will contribute to the development and execution of territory-specific medical plans and tactics, ensuring alignment with national strategies.
• • You will be tasked with identifying and reporting timely and relevant scientific and clinical insights, emerging trends, opportunities, and potential challenges related to our targeted therapeutic areas and products. This intelligence gathering is vital for informing strategic decision-making across the organization.
• • Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with our internal clinical development teams to support and enhance patient enrollment in Xenon-sponsored clinical trials, including identifying potential investigators for our ongoing epilepsy programs. Your field insights can be invaluable in overcoming enrollment barriers and accelerating trial completion.
• • You will be responsible for responding to and meticulously documenting unsolicited requests for scientific information from HCPs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
• • Leading and executing Xenon’s presence at national and regional medical congresses will be a core function. This includes strategic planning, coordinating activities, and ensuring effective engagement with attendees.
• • As a Senior MSL, you will also contribute to the development of the MSL team by providing instruction, coaching, and mentoring to new or less experienced MSLs, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
• • This role requires significant domestic travel, up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays as dictated by business needs. Ad-hoc international travel may also be required.
