- • Design, deploy, and tune Layer 2/3 networks using Cisco, Meraki, Dell, and Palo Alto equipment across data-center, lab, and office environments.
- • Maintain high-capacity network links ranging from 10 GbE to 100 GbE, ensuring compliance with strict latency and uptime requirements.
- • Configure and manage routing protocols including BGP and OSPF, along with firewall policies to secure and optimize network performance.
- • Automate network operations using Ansible, Python, or Terraform to convert repetitive tasks into reproducible playbooks and CI/CD pipelines.
- • Serve as first-responder for P1/P2 network incidents, conducting tri-level troubleshooting across physical, logical, and cloud-edge layers.
- • Rotate on a 24×7 on-call schedule to ensure continuous network availability and rapid incident resolution.
- • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation including diagrams, runbooks, and change records for cross-team accessibility.
- • Collaborate with InfoSec teams to harden network configurations, manage certificates and cryptographic keys, and remediate vulnerabilities through switch firmware upgrades.
- • Differentiate between fiber and copper cabling types and their respective connector standards to ensure proper physical layer implementation.
- • Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing across the infrastructure and SRE teams.
- • Support global infrastructure operations that enable Cloudera’s data-center and IaaS-delivered analytics services.
- • Ensure network architecture scales reliably to support enterprise-grade data management and digital transformation initiatives.
- • Apply a security-first mindset to all network design and operational decisions, aligning with corporate compliance and risk mitigation standards.
- • Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure evolution to prepare for future growth and emerging technology demands.
- • Work within a high-impact, small-team environment focused on reliability, performance, and innovation in enterprise networking.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5-8 years of enterprise or data center networking experience
- • Deep expertise in Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols including Ethernet, VLAN, STP, BGP, and OSPF
- • Proficiency with Cisco, Meraki, Dell, Palo Alto firewalls, and Cisco WLCs
- • Experience with automation tools such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform
- • Hands-on experience with cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP (VPC, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, TGW)
- • Strong documentation practices and ability to mentor junior engineers
