  • • Serve as the analytical engine for Fanvue’s global payments function, owning end-to-end monitoring, optimization, and recovery of transaction flows across a multi-acquirer, multi-MID payments stack processing tens of millions of pounds monthly.
  • • Diagnose and recover declined transactions by analyzing decline codes, retry logic, and timing across multiple payment acquirers to maximize authorization rates and minimize revenue leakage.
  • • Build and continuously optimize intelligent payment routing rules based on card type, user spending behavior, transaction value, and platform activity to improve success rates and reduce processing costs.
  • • Map and analyze per-transaction cost of goods sold (COGS) across all processors, gateways, foreign exchange fees, scheme fees, refunds, and chargebacks, identifying opportunities to reduce overall payment expenses.
  • • Own daily reconciliation with Finance, identifying and resolving discrepancies across heterogeneous data sources including acquirer statements, SFTP files, webhook responses, and unschematized spreadsheets.
  • • Investigate and systematically improve MIT (Mail Order/Telephone Order) and subscription renewal auth failures to increase renewal success rates and recurring revenue retention.
  • • Identify friction points and drop-off stages in the user payment journey, translating findings into actionable recommendations for Product and Engineering teams.
  • • Design, build, and maintain a live, real-time payments KPI dashboard tracking auth rates, decline breakdowns, cost per transaction, chargeback ratios, retry uplift, and other critical metrics.
  • • Work directly with the Chief Business Operations Officer to turn raw payments data into strategic decisions with measurable monthly impact on revenue and margin.
  • • Operate independently in a data-rich, high-velocity environment with no pre-defined playbook—establishing cadence, structure, and ownership from scratch.
  • • Pull and analyze data directly from the data warehouse using SQL without reliance on engineering or analytics teams, demonstrating self-sufficiency with complex, messy datasets.
  • • Communicate complex data insights clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders, translating technical findings into business recommendations without excessive caveats or jargon.
  • • Continuously test hypotheses, run experiments, interpret outcomes, and iterate on payment strategies in a feedback loop focused on measurable commercial improvement.
  • • Thrive in an AI-native environment where data-driven decisions directly influence platform growth, creator earnings, and fan engagement.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Deep experience in high-risk payments environments with multi-acquirer, multi-MID setups
  • • Proficient in SQL with ability to independently query, analyze, and visualize data from a data warehouse
  • • Comfort working with messy, inconsistent data from diverse sources including SFTP files, webhooks, and unschematized spreadsheets
  • • Proven ability to form hypotheses, run experiments, and iterate based on data outcomes
  • • Strong communication skills to translate complex data findings into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • • Self-starting mindset with experience building structure and processes in undefined or nascent roles
