  • • As a Senior People Business Partner at Whatnot, you will serve as a strategic advisor to leaders across the global Tech organization—including Engineering, Product, and Design—driving people strategy, organizational design, and talent decisions that directly support rapid growth and international expansion in the live commerce space.
  • • You will partner with senior technical leaders (VP/GM+) to coach managers, improve team effectiveness and employee experience, and lead change management during reorgs, leadership transitions, and evolving business priorities, ensuring alignment between people initiatives and business outcomes.

  • • In this role, you will drive core people processes such as compensation, performance cycles, and talent planning for your org, while collaborating with Centers of Excellence (L&D, Total Rewards, People Ops) to design and deliver effective, data-informed programs.
  • • You will use engagement surveys, people data, and workforce analytics to proactively identify talent risks like attrition and disengagement, and partner with employment legal on employee relations matters including performance, behavior, and investigations.
  • • You will support manager development in areas such as inclusion, team effectiveness, and leadership capability, and design org-specific initiatives tied to business needs, ensuring people strategies are both proactive and iterative in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • • You will lead org design and workforce planning efforts, helping leaders anticipate skill gaps, structure teams for scalability, and align talent deployment with product and market expansion goals across global markets.
  • • You will foster strong partnerships built on trust and discretion, leveraging your experience in distributed environments to advise leaders with sound judgment, clear communication, and a consistent focus on business impact and employee experience.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 10+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role supporting senior (VP/GM+) Engineering, Product, or technical leaders in a remote or distributed, high-growth tech environment.
  • • Proven ability to build trust and partner effectively with leaders, managers, and employees through strong communication, emotional intelligence, and a partnership mindset.
  • • Experience driving core people processes including compensation, performance management, talent planning, and workforce planning, with comfort using data and insights to inform decisions.
  • • Demonstrated success in change management, org design, and manager development, particularly in fast-paced, evolving business contexts.
  • • Sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive employee relations matters, including performance, behavior, and investigations, with willingness to partner with legal as needed.
  • • Strong prioritization skills, attention to detail, and ability to stay connected to business goals while managing multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
