Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Define how piping information is developed and validated during FEED and early detailed design phases to inform product requirements and validation checks.
- • Review and validate piping-related content across P&IDs, line lists, and technical specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- • Create repeatable automated checks to identify tagging errors, completeness gaps, and consistency issues before they propagate into downstream design stages.
- • Map sources of piping rework across projects to determine root causes and prioritize automation opportunities.
- • Clarify interface points between piping and other disciplines including Process, Mechanical, I&C, and Electrical to ensure integrated workflow design.
- • Distinguish between repetitive tasks suitable for automation and tasks requiring expert engineering judgment to guide product development.
- • Translate real-world piping workflows from EPC and owner-operator environments into actionable product specifications for AI-driven preconstruction tools.
- • Identify common inconsistencies between P&IDs, line lists, and vendor package submissions to inform validation logic.
- • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure software solutions align with industry standards and field realities.
- • Contribute to the design of workflows that preserve engineering quality while reducing manual effort in preconstruction phases.
- • Support the development of AI models by providing domain-specific feedback on piping data patterns, anomalies, and decision thresholds.
- • Ensure product validation rules reflect ASME B31.3 and other relevant downstream piping practices.
- • Help shape the product roadmap by highlighting pain points in current piping design processes and proposing automated solutions.
- • Maintain awareness of industry trends in digital engineering, 3D modeling, and constructability analysis to inform product evolution.
- • Act as a bridge between field engineering teams and software development teams to ensure technical accuracy and usability of AI tools.
- • Participate in client and stakeholder discussions to understand real-world constraints and translate them into product requirements.
- • Document piping workflows, validation criteria, and failure modes to support training, onboarding, and continuous improvement of AI systems.
- • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing on piping best practices, common errors, and efficiency opportunities in preconstruction.
- • Ensure all product checks are grounded in actual engineering practice, not theoretical assumptions.
- • Maintain alignment with industry norms for piping deliverables, including valve selection logic and line numbering conventions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience at an EPC, PMC, or owner operator
- • Strong understanding of FEED and early detailed design piping workflows
- • Experience with P&ID reviews and common piping deliverables (line list, specs, valve selection logic)
- • Familiarity with ASME B31.3 and downstream piping practices
- • Ability to spot inconsistencies across P&IDs, line lists, and vendor packages
- • Clear understanding of cross-discipline dependencies
🏖️ Benefits
- • Meaningful base + equity
- • Unlimited PTO: We believe great work requires recharging.
- • Insurance: Generous health insurance covering medical, dental, and vision.
- • Health and Wellness Budget: We provide up to $150/mo reimbursement for health and wellness spending, such as gym memberships, fitness classes, or similar.
