📋 Description

• As a Senior Platform Engineer at MoonPay, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling the foundational infrastructure that powers one of the world’s leading fiat-to-crypto payment platforms, enabling secure, compliant, and seamless digital asset transactions for over 30 million users globally.
• Your work will directly contribute to MoonPay’s mission of democratizing access to the decentralized economy by ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of core systems that bridge traditional finance and blockchain technology.
• You will design, develop, and maintain highly available, scalable backend services and infrastructure using modern cloud-native technologies, with a focus on Kubernetes, microservices, and infrastructure-as-code to support high-throughput payment processing across multiple jurisdictions.
• You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including security, compliance, and product engineering to implement robust observability, logging, monitoring, and alerting systems that ensure system health and rapid incident response in a 24/7 global operation.
• You will drive automation and CI/CD pipeline improvements to increase deployment frequency and reduce lead time for changes, integrating security scanning, testing, and compliance checks into the software delivery lifecycle.
• You will mentor junior engineers, participate in technical design reviews, and champion best practices in system architecture, performance optimization, and incident management to elevate the overall engineering bar.
• You will work within a hybrid model based in the United Kingdom, contributing to a diverse, mission-driven team that values transparency, rigor, and innovation in building trusted financial infrastructure for the Web3 era.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in platform, backend, or infrastructure engineering with strong expertise in designing and operating scalable, distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Deep proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration, including experience with Helm, Operators, and custom controller development.
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Go, Python, or Java, with a focus on writing clean, testable, and maintainable code for infrastructure and tooling.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD).
• Proven ability to implement and manage observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, or similar) and drive SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgeting.
• Experience working in regulated environments (financial services, payments, or fintech) is a strong plus, with familiarity in compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or PCI DSS.
