📋 Description

• • Architect and own the next-generation API Gateway platform that handles every byte of traffic entering or moving inside JioStar’s global, multi-cloud estate. You will design north-south ingress paths for 750 million weekly viewers and east-west service meshes that let 100+ engineering teams ship features without worrying about latency, security, or blast radius.
• • Build a green-field “unified traffic abstraction layer” from scratch. This platform will map every backend service—whether it lives in AWS, GCP, or on-prem—to its CDN footprint on Akamai, Fastly, and Cloudflare. You will codify routing rules, metadata inventories, configuration drift detection, and automated multi-CDN failover so that a single pull-request can roll out or roll back traffic changes across continents in minutes.
• • Automate everything. Use Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes to provision and lifecycle-manage gateways, load-balancers, WAFs, and edge POPs. Embed GitOps pipelines that gate every config change with policy-as-code, canary analysis, and automated rollback. Your tooling will be the reason developers sleep through on-call nights.
• • Champion observability as a first-class feature. Instrument every hop of the traffic path with OpenTelemetry traces, RED/USE metrics, and structured logs. Build self-service dashboards and SLO burn-down alerts that surface actionable insights to both platform and product teams. When incidents do occur, your data will shrink MTTR from hours to minutes.
• • Partner with SRE, Security, and Developer Experience squads to harden the stack. Define rate-limiting, mTLS, and zero-trust policies that protect against DDoS, credential stuffing, and replay attacks. Run quarterly game-days to validate chaos-engineering practices and publish post-mortems that raise the reliability bar for the entire org.
• • Create developer-centric tooling in Python or Go—CLIs, SDKs, and web consoles—that abstract complex networking concepts into simple commands. Enable a product engineer to expose a new endpoint globally with one YAML file and a `git push`.
• • Optimize for cost and carbon. Model traffic patterns to right-size CDN caches, negotiate traffic tiers, and design burst-handling strategies that keep both cloud bills and carbon footprint in check.
• • Mentor junior engineers and write internal RFCs that turn tribal knowledge into living architecture docs. Present at guilds and external meetups to position JioStar as a thought leader in large-scale media delivery.
