• • As a Senior Platform Engineer at Onebrief, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, building, and scaling the foundational infrastructure that powers our cutting-edge, AI-driven collaboration and workflow software. This is a strategic position focused on ensuring the robust and secure deployment of our Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) application across diverse government environments, including those operating at multiple classification levels. Your expertise will be instrumental in enabling rapid, reliable, and secure software delivery while meticulously adhering to stringent Department of Defense (DoD) requirements.
• • You will be a key collaborator, working hand-in-hand with our DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and application engineering teams. This role offers a deeply technical scope with significant ownership, empowering you to shape critical platform systems, influence major technical decisions, and provide clear, confident support for product delivery.
• • We are seeking an individual who intrinsically views infrastructure as a product, understands systems as powerful leverage points, and excels in environments characterized by significant constraints and mission-critical operations. Your ability to navigate complexity and deliver under pressure will be paramount.
• • Your core responsibility will be to own and enhance the backbone of Onebrief’s COTS deployments. This involves automating, securing, and scaling the platform to empower product teams to innovate and deploy rapidly without compromising trust or stability.
• • **BUILDING AND AUTOMATING THE PLATFORM:** You will be responsible for the design, provisioning, and ongoing management of both cloud and on-premises environments. This includes leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible to create and maintain secure, resilient Kubernetes clusters capable of supporting multi-level security deployments. Your work will ensure that our infrastructure is not only functional but also highly available and adaptable.
• • **DESIGNING AND EVOLVING CI/CD:** A significant part of your role will involve optimizing our Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. You will work with tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions to reduce lead times for deployments, enforce strict quality gates, and ensure consistent environment parity. This focus on pipeline efficiency and reliability is crucial for maintaining the velocity and integrity of our software releases.
• • **UPHOLDING RELIABILITY, SECURITY, AND COMPLIANCE:** You will partner closely with SREs to implement and refine our observability stack, including monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Datadog. A critical aspect of this role is embedding security and compliance from the ground up. You will integrate Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) controls directly into our automation processes and daily operational practices, ensuring we meet and exceed government security mandates.
• • **OPERATING AND OPTIMIZING OUR FOOTPRINT:** You will manage and optimize our infrastructure footprint across major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises networks. This involves a constant balancing act between cost-efficiency, performance optimization, and robust security measures, all while ensuring that product teams have the resources they need to succeed without unnecessary roadblocks.
• • **SUPPORTING THE TEAM, DOCUMENTING, AND MENTORING:** Beyond technical contributions, you will be a vital support resource for the team. This includes triaging and resolving complex platform issues, authoring clear and comprehensive documentation for system architectures and operational runbooks, and actively sharing your knowledge and mentoring junior teammates. Your ability to foster a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment is highly valued.
