Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Platform Engineer, Testing Infrastructure at Weave Communications, you will lead the design and evolution of internal testing platforms that empower developers across backend, frontend, mobile, and MLOps teams to deliver high-quality software at scale. This is a strategic engineering role focused on building scalable, reliable, and developer-centric tooling—not manual testing—where your work directly impacts engineering velocity and product reliability.
- • You will architect and maintain robust test infrastructure supporting diverse technologies including Go microservices on Kubernetes, React frontends with Playwright/Cypress, Flutter mobile apps, and Python-based MLOps pipelines, ensuring seamless integration across varied workflows and technology stacks.
- • You will drive the technical vision for test automation and CI/CD enhancement, evaluating emerging tools and practices to improve test coverage, reliability, and feedback speed while reducing flakiness and manual toil in development workflows.
- • You will own and optimize CI/CD pipelines, integrating automated testing, enabling faster feedback loops, and building tools for test data management, dynamic environment provisioning, and insightful test result analysis to improve visibility into software quality trends.
- • You will solve complex engineering challenges related to testing distributed, asynchronous systems—particularly those involving Kafka, NSQ, and gRPC—by designing resilient testing strategies and debugging infrastructure-level issues that affect test validity and reliability.
- • You will champion quality culture by creating intuitive documentation, mentoring engineers, and building delightful tools that make it easy for developers to write, run, and understand tests, thereby elevating testing as a shared responsibility across teams.
- • You will address critical gaps in mobile test infrastructure, specifically for Flutter applications, by designing and scaling testing solutions that enable confident releases and improve test coverage for one of Weave’s key client-facing platforms.
- • You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers within and beyond the Test Infrastructure team, fostering a culture of excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement in testing practices and system reliability.
- • You will troubleshoot and resolve complex failures in test infrastructure and CI/CD systems, partnering with development teams to diagnose root causes in flaky tests, environment issues, or integration bottlenecks, ensuring trust in automated quality gates.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional experience in Test Infrastructure Engineering, Software Engineer in Test (SDET), SRE, DevOps, or Software Engineering with a strong focus on building test automation frameworks, CI/CD systems, and developer tooling.
- • Strong programming fundamentals with significant hands-on experience in Go and/or Python; proficiency in at least one is required, expertise in both highly desirable.
- • Deep familiarity with Kubernetes, including deploying applications and managing resources in self-hosted or cloud-based clusters.
- • Proven ability to design, implement, manage, and optimize complex CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Spinnaker.
- • Solid understanding of testing methodologies (unit, integration, API, end-to-end, performance, load, contract) and extensive experience with frameworks like Go’s testing library, PyTest, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar.
- • Experience working with and testing microservice architectures and distributed systems, including challenges related to observability, async messaging (Kafka/NSQ), and gRPC.
- • Exceptional analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving ambiguous, complex technical issues through systems thinking and root-cause analysis.
- • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to engineers, product managers, and leadership while driving cross-team alignment.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to lead and shape the technical direction of test infrastructure at a growing tech company, with direct impact on engineering productivity and software quality across multiple product lines.
- • Work with a modern, diverse tech stack including Go, Kubernetes, React, Flutter, Python, Kafka, NSQ, and gRPC, enabling deep technical growth and specialization.
- • Remote-first work environment based in India, offering flexibility and autonomy while collaborating with a global engineering team.
- • Access to advanced infrastructure practices including IaC (Terraform/Pulumi), observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog), and performance/chaos testing tools (k6, Locust, Chaos Mesh).
- • Mentorship and leadership opportunities to coach engineers, influence architectural decisions, and drive large-scale technical initiatives across teams.
- • Exposure to cutting-edge testing challenges in mobile (Flutter) and distributed systems, allowing you to solve unique problems few companies face at scale.
- • Alignment with Weave’s values of "The Customer is Everything" and "Care More" through work that elevates internal engineering excellence and ultimately improves customer-facing product reliability.
- • Inclusive, equal-opportunity workplace committed to diversity, accessibility, and supporting employees with accommodations as needed.
