📋 Description

• Senior Product Design Engineer (Mechanical) role at Samsara Inc. focused on industrial design, architecture, and design leadership for hardware products used in physical operations industries such as transportation, manufacturing, and construction.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding product architecture after industrial design studies, collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product Management, EE, FW, EPM, Hardware), mentoring engineers, conducting field validation, and ensuring designs meet performance, cost, and schedule goals.
• Samsara is a pioneer in the Connected Operations™ Cloud, leveraging IoT data to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability in global physical operations; the company is publicly traded (NYSE: IOT) and values innovation, customer success, and long-term impact.

🎯 Requirements

• 10 years of experience shipping high-volume hardware programs at scale with ODM and JDM partners overseas
• Systems design expertise in thermals, rugged enclosures, antennas, and batteries
• Proven record navigating tradeoffs between design, manufacturability, schedule, and cost
• BS or MS degree in mechanical engineering
• Ability to travel up to 20% when necessary
