- • Lead end-to-end design of Binti’s full product suite including Licensing, Family Finding, Service Referrals, and AI-powered tools, ensuring alignment with the mission of keeping children safe and families together.
- • Collaborate with product managers from early-stage research through ideation and problem-solving to uncover deep user pain points among caseworkers, agency leadership, families, and youth in complex social service environments.
- • Design and iterate on wireframes and high-fidelity mockups that balance user needs with regulatory constraints and operational realities of government social service workflows.
- • Rapidly prototype concepts using AI design tools such as Lovable and Figma Make to validate ideas with users and stakeholders before engineering development, accelerating feedback cycles and reducing misaligned build efforts.
- • Own and evolve Binti’s design system to maintain consistency, scalability, and efficiency as the product surface area expands across new social service domains.
- • Champion accessibility and WCAG compliance across all designs, ensuring products meet strict government standards for usability by diverse and often high-stress user groups.
- • Stay current with evolving design trends, research methodologies, and accessibility best practices to inform and elevate the team’s design direction.
- • Improve cross-functional processes between design, product, and engineering teams to enhance collaboration and delivery speed as the company scales from 90 to a larger team.

- • Mentor junior designers and implement scalable design processes that support growth while preserving quality and user focus.
- • Conduct usability testing and gather qualitative and quantitative feedback from real users in child welfare and other social service systems to continuously refine product experiences.
- • Work in-person on Mondays and Thursdays at Binti’s San Francisco headquarters, with flexibility to work remotely on other days, prioritizing in-person collaboration for design alignment and team cohesion.
- • Ensure all designs are culturally responsive and trauma-informed, acknowledging the emotional and regulatory burdens faced by social workers and families in state systems.
- • Translate abstract mission goals into concrete, functional design solutions that improve outcomes for vulnerable populations while navigating bureaucratic and technical constraints.
- • Balance innovation with adherence to established design patterns and system integrity, ensuring new features integrate seamlessly with existing workflows and interfaces.
- • Communicate design vision clearly to non-design stakeholders using interactive prototypes, journey maps, and user stories, making complex problems and solutions accessible across teams.
- • Advocate for design equity by designing for users with limited digital literacy, high cognitive load, or physical and emotional challenges inherent in social service delivery.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in UX, UI, or product design
- • Expertise with AI design and prototyping tools such as Lovable, Claude, or Cursor, with proven ability to turn rough ideas into interactive prototypes quickly
- • Experience working with complex, B2B, enterprise, or government software systems
- • Strong UX skills including workflow mapping, wireframing, and iterative design from scratch while maintaining consistency with existing systems
- • Demonstrated ability to mentor teammates and implement scalable design processes
- • Low-ego, collaborative approach to working with product and engineering teams
