Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for R1’s underpayments portfolio—one of the fastest-growing and highest-impact areas in healthcare revenue cycle management—where every 1% improvement translates into tens of millions of dollars recovered for our hospital and health-system clients.
- • Translate complex underpayments data (denials, DRG mismatches, payer contract shortfalls, etc.) into a crisp product vision and multi-year roadmap that balances quick-win automation with transformational AI capabilities, ensuring stakeholders from CFOs to front-line analysts understand the “why” behind every feature.
- • Lead agile discovery and delivery ceremonies with two cross-functional squads (12–15 engineers, data scientists, UX designers, and QA analysts), writing clear epics and user stories, negotiating scope vs. schedule trade-offs, and driving ruthless prioritization so that each release maximizes client ROI within 90-day windows.
- • Serve as the primary evangelist and subject-matter expert for underpayments: host monthly roadmap reviews with Directors and VPs, run quarterly on-site “voice of customer” sessions at flagship health systems, and synthesize findings into actionable backlog items that keep our roadmap two steps ahead of payer policy changes.
- • Leverage advanced analytics and machine-learning techniques—clustering high-value claim cohorts, NLP on denial reason codes, and agentic AI workflows—to build self-healing revenue cycle processes that reduce manual touches by 40% and accelerate cash posting by 3–5 days.
- • Partner with dependent product managers across Patient Access, Coding, and Payer Contracting domains to ensure seamless data hand-offs, shared KPI definitions, and unified client roll-out strategies that prevent “swivel-chair” work for end users.
- • Define and monitor success metrics (gross recovery rate, cost-to-collect, analyst productivity) via Power BI dashboards; present insights to executive steering committees and use findings to secure incremental funding for next-gen capabilities.
- • Champion a culture of experimentation: design A/B tests for new denial prediction models, measure lift against control groups, and sunset features that fail to move the needle—while scaling those that deliver >5x ROI within six months.
- • Orchestrate change-management plans that drive 90%+ user adoption within 60 days of release—creating quick-reference guides, hosting super-user office hours, and partnering with Client Success to embed best practices into standard operating procedures.
- • Stay ahead of regulatory and payer trends (CMS 2024 outpatient rule, commercial payer AI audits, state balance-billing laws) and translate external shifts into product requirements that keep clients compliant and profitable.
- • Mentor junior PMs and analysts through structured lunch-and-learns, code-review shadowing, and quarterly OKR check-ins—building the next generation of product leaders who can scale R1’s impact across new markets and service lines.
