- • As Twilio's next Senior Product Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of communications by leading critical Data Substrate initiatives. This role is a unique opportunity to operate at the nexus of data engineering, product management, analytics, and business stakeholders, driving the development of scalable and reliable data capabilities that serve both internal Twilions and our external customers.
- • You will own the product lifecycle for key data platform components, from ideation and strategy to execution and ongoing optimization. This involves defining the product vision, roadmap, and requirements for Twilio's data substrate and primitives, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the business and its developers.
- • A core responsibility will be to understand and translate the complex data requirements of our customers for both operational and analytical purposes. You will then translate these needs into actionable product plans and work closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless feature delivery within the data pipeline.
- • You will be expected to craft and articulate a compelling vision for the data substrate at Twilio. This requires close collaboration with other product managers and engineering counterparts across the entire Twilio R&D organization, fostering alignment and driving a unified approach to data infrastructure.
- • This role demands a high degree of autonomy. You will be empowered to set direction for complex product areas, influence cross-functional teams, and take ownership of delivery, outcomes, adoption, cost management, and the long-term health of the data platform.
- • You will lead the definition of product requirements necessary to build and enhance the data platform, ensuring it is robust, performant, and future-proof.
- • Drive priority initiatives forward by effectively navigating various organizations and stakeholders, building consensus and ensuring alignment on strategic goals.
- • Execute on feature delivery within the data pipeline, ensuring that the platform effectively fulfills the operational and analytical data needs of our users.
- • Work side-by-side with other product managers and engineering leaders to define and evangelize the overarching vision for Twilio's data substrate and core data primitives.
- • You will be responsible for understanding the technical intricacies of data platforms, including data lakes, data streaming, and event logging, and how they can be leveraged to create value.
- • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the big data ecosystem, including technologies like Kafka, Spark, Presto/Athena, and similar platforms, to inform product strategy and technical decisions.
- • Leverage your technical savviness to navigate the complexities of cloud environments, APIs, communications technologies, enterprise software, and data reliability principles.
- • Apply your expertise in ETL techniques to optimize data flows and ensure data quality and accessibility.
- • Champion a customer-oriented approach, demonstrating an exceptional ability to understand customer challenges and articulate a clear vision for how Twilio's data products can solve them and drive significant impact.
- • Master the art of soliciting and synthesizing customer requirements from diverse, often conflicting, sources. You will then prioritize these requirements and collaborate effectively with engineering and design teams to deliver impactful solutions.
- • Function as a strategic problem solver, thriving in broad-scope projects that span from initial conception through the continuous operation of 24x7 services.
- • Demonstrate a proven track record of solving sophisticated problems and possessing the aptitude to navigate uncharted territories, driving innovation and overcoming complex challenges.
- • You will be a key player in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of Twilio's data infrastructure, directly impacting the company's ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive business growth.
- • This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact on a global scale, contributing to a company that is revolutionizing how the world communicates and interacts.
