• • As a Senior Product Manager, Coding at Handshake, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of how AI models learn to understand, generate, and reason about code. This pivotal role is central to Handshake AI's mission of powering expert-labeled data collection at scale, specifically focusing on the critical modality of coding. You will be instrumental in defining the strategic direction, product roadmap, and execution for training frontier AI models that require sophisticated coding capabilities. Your work will directly impact the development of AI that can write, debug, and comprehend code, a fundamental aspect of the evolving AI economy.
• • Your day-to-day responsibilities will be dynamic and challenging, reflecting the high-ambiguity nature of this emerging field. You will dive deep into customer discovery, engaging with leading AI labs and internal stakeholders to meticulously understand their unique needs and workflows related to coding data. This involves identifying precisely what constitutes "good" coding data for AI training, assessing where current offerings fall short, and translating these insights into actionable product strategies. A significant part of your role will involve making critical roadmap and scope decisions, navigating complex tradeoffs to prioritize what gets built first and what can be deferred, ensuring clear communication of these decisions to engineering, operations, and leadership teams. You will also lead a dedicated cross-functional squad, comprising engineering and design partners, fostering a collaborative environment to drive product development. Furthermore, you will forge strong partnerships with other teams, including Operator Experience, Fellow Experience, and other modality Product Managers, ensuring your work integrates seamlessly and enables their efforts. Defining and tracking key success metrics for the coding modality, such as capacity deployed, quality outcomes, and time-to-staff, will be crucial for measuring progress and ensuring accountability. Finally, you will manage the launch and iteration process, overseeing pilots, gathering user feedback, and refining the product based on real-world performance, transforming early successes into scalable, repeatable offerings.
