đź“‹ Description
- • Spotify is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Product Manager to join our dynamic Content Platform team, based in London. This pivotal role is at the heart of Spotify's operation, focusing on the critical 'content supply' chain – the very first step in bringing music, podcasts, and audiobooks to our global audience of hundreds of millions of users.
- • As a Senior Product Manager on the Content Platform team, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of how the world's audio content makes its way onto Spotify. You will own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for systems that ingest, process, and deliver vast amounts of content and metadata from a diverse range of partners across the entire supply chain. This includes working with labels, distributors, and other content providers to ensure a seamless and efficient flow of audio assets.
- • Your primary focus will be on the music supply chain, a complex and vital ecosystem. You will dive deep into understanding the intricacies of how music is ingested, rights are managed, and metadata is enriched, ultimately making it available internally for consumption across all Spotify consumer surfaces. This requires a strategic thinker who can identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within this established landscape.
- • You will be responsible for defining and prioritizing product initiatives that enhance the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of our content ingestion and processing systems. This involves collaborating closely with engineering teams to translate complex technical requirements into actionable product plans, ensuring that our platform can handle the ever-increasing volume and variety of content.
- • A key aspect of this role is partnering with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, legal, R&D, and business development. You will act as a bridge between these groups, ensuring alignment on product goals and facilitating the smooth execution of product roadmaps. Your ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships will be crucial for success.
- • You will lead the product lifecycle from ideation and discovery through to launch and iteration. This includes conducting market research, analyzing user needs (both internal and external), defining product requirements, writing user stories, and working with design and engineering to deliver high-quality solutions.
- • The Content Platform is a foundational element of Spotify's success, directly impacting the listener experience. By ensuring content is accurately and quickly available, you will play a direct role in enabling Spotify to deliver exceptional audio experiences to fans worldwide. Your work will contribute to the robustness, scalability, and readiness of Spotify's internal catalog, powering everything from personalized playlists to new podcast releases.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology within a fast-paced, innovative environment. You will have the chance to influence the direction of a critical platform that underpins Spotify's global operations and its mission to unlock the potential of human creativity.
- • You will be expected to deeply understand the challenges and opportunities within the music supply chain, from metadata standards and rights management to digital asset delivery and quality control. Your insights will drive the development of features and system enhancements that address these complexities.
- • Furthermore, you will champion a data-driven approach to product development. This involves defining key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing product performance, and using insights to inform future product decisions and optimizations.
- • The Senior Product Manager will also be responsible for managing stakeholder expectations, communicating product updates, and ensuring that the Content Platform evolves in alignment with Spotify's broader strategic objectives and the evolving needs of the audio industry.
- • This role is ideal for a product leader who thrives in ambiguity, possesses a strong technical aptitude, and has a passion for the music and audio industry. You will be empowered to make significant contributions and drive meaningful change within a globally recognized brand.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as a Product Manager, with a significant portion focused on platform products, content management systems, or supply chain operations, ideally within the media, entertainment, or music industry.
- • Deep understanding of the music supply chain, including content ingestion, metadata management, rights and royalties, and digital asset delivery processes.
- • Strong technical background with the ability to effectively communicate with engineering teams and understand complex technical challenges.
- • Experience in defining product strategy, roadmapping, and prioritizing features for complex systems.
- • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and stock options package.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
- • Generous paid time off and parental leave policies.
- • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
- • A vibrant and inclusive work environment with a focus on collaboration and innovation.
