Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the data product vision for BestReviews.com, the #1 trusted source for product recommendations on the internet. You will transform terabytes of consumer behavior, affiliate performance, and content engagement data into elegant, revenue-driving features that simplify purchasing decisions for millions of Americans every month.
  • • Build and continuously evolve the strategic roadmap for two mission-critical internal platforms: our in-house data analytics stack and our custom Content Management System (CMS). Every prioritization decision you make will directly influence how quickly our content team can publish, how accurately we can attribute revenue, and how fast we can test new monetization models.
  • • Ship high-impact CMS enhancements that measurably boost editorial productivity and slash operational costs. Recent wins include AI-assisted product brief generators and automated image optimization that cut publishing time by 37 %. You will identify the next wave of automation opportunities and shepherd them from ideation to GA release.
  • • Act as the primary product liaison to our ecommerce, publisher, and paid-traffic partners (think Amazon, Walmart, The Hill, Chicago Tribune, NewsNation, and 200+ local Nexstation sites). You will translate partner OKRs into technical requirements, negotiate scope, and deliver integrations that grow partner revenue while deepening BestReviews’ competitive moat.
  • • Lead a distributed 2.5-person BI squad based in Asia and a 7-person engineering team in Europe. You will write crisp PRDs, manage Jira backlogs, run sprint planning, and ensure every story is unblocked, estimated, and aligned to quarterly OKRs. The Senior Director of Technology owns process; you own priorities and outcomes.
  • • Establish repeatable, lightweight processes where none exist today. Whether it’s a new data governance model, a QA checklist for CMS releases, or an SLA for partner API uptime, you will design the playbook, socialize it, and iterate until it becomes muscle memory for the entire org.
  • • Automate the mundane. From ETL pipelines that refresh affiliate commission data every 15 minutes to Slack bots that surface A/B-test winners, you will spot manual pain points and eliminate them with code, no-code tools, or sheer ingenuity.
  • • Collaborate daily with a cross-functional dream team: fellow PMs, UX/UI designers, front-end and back-end engineers, performance media buyers, SEO analysts, content strategists, and BI managers. Your superpower is turning conflicting stakeholder wish-lists into a single, laser-focused roadmap that everyone rallies behind.
  • • Champion a culture of experimentation. You will design and launch multivariate tests on landing pages, recommendation widgets, and email flows; interpret results in Looker; and socialize learnings so the entire company levels up.
  • • Communicate like a pro across time zones. Whether it’s a Loom walkthrough for the Asia team at 7 a.m. PT or a concise Slack update for execs at 5 p.m., your updates are clear, data-driven, and always tied to business impact.
  • • Stay ahead of the curve on AI/ML applications in ecommerce content. You will evaluate new models for review summarization, personalized product rankings, and dynamic pricing displays, then run scrappy pilots that prove ROI before we scale.
  • • Think big, act fast. One week you might whiteboard a vision for real-time personalization across 200+ syndication sites; the next week you’ll QA a bug fix in staging. Comfort with ambiguity and a bias for action are non-negotiable.
