As our Product Team expands, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Product Manager, Data Science, to play a pivotal role in supporting The Zebra's evolving needs.
  • • In this critical role, your primary mission will be to bridge the gap between cutting-edge data science models and seamless, impactful customer experiences. You will be the driving force behind the entire lifecycle of our data science models, from the initial creative stages of feature engineering to the meticulous processes of production monitoring and drift management. This is not a theoretical position; it is designed for a hands-on leader who thrives on the technical intricacies of ensuring AI performs optimally in a live, dynamic environment.
  • • Reporting directly to the VP of Product, you will collaborate closely with the Chief AI Officer, the dedicated data science team, and our engineering counterparts to achieve ambitious company and AI Village objectives. Your strategic insights and product leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of data-driven innovation at The Zebra.
  • • Key responsibilities will include defining and owning the product vision, strategy, and roadmap specifically for data science and machine learning initiatives. This involves translating complex business problems into well-defined, actionable data science use cases and clear product requirements that guide development efforts.
  • • You will partner intimately with data scientists, data engineers, and ML engineers, providing product direction and ensuring the successful end-to-end delivery of sophisticated models and valuable data products. A significant part of your role will involve prioritizing features, experiments, and model improvements, meticulously balancing impact, feasibility, and potential risks to maximize value.
  • • Leading discovery efforts will be crucial, as you identify and champion opportunities where advanced data science can unlock significant business value and enhance customer experiences. This proactive approach ensures we are continuously leveraging our data assets to their fullest potential.
  • • A core tenet of this role is ensuring that all models deployed to production are robust, rigorously monitored, and subject to continuous improvement post-launch. This includes establishing proactive strategies for performance tracking and addressing any degradation or drift that may occur.
  • • You will collaborate closely with engineering and platform teams to influence and guide decisions regarding data infrastructure, tooling, and overall scalability, ensuring our data science capabilities can grow and adapt.
  • • Effective communication is paramount. You will be responsible for clearly articulating trade-offs, project timelines, model performance metrics, and key outcomes to a diverse range of stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency across the organization.
  • • Defining success metrics and rigorously evaluating product performance using both quantitative and qualitative insights will be essential for demonstrating the impact of your work and informing future product development.
  • • Furthermore, you will champion and ensure the responsible use of data throughout the product lifecycle, upholding the highest standards of privacy, fairness, and ethical considerations in all data science applications.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of ownership, exceptional communication and collaboration skills, and a deep commitment to continuous improvement. 🎯 Requirements

  • • 3+ years of experience in a consumer-facing product management or equivalent role, with a proven track record of delivering successful products.
  • • Experience working closely with engineers and designers in agile or scrum environments, demonstrating a strong understanding of software development lifecycles.
  • • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to dissect complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical ideas into clear, concise language for diverse audiences.
  • • Proficiency in product management tools such as Jira and Confluence, and experience with data analysis and visualization tools like Looker, Amplitude, or similar.
