  • • UniCourt is at the forefront of revolutionizing legal research and analytics, empowering legal professionals with cutting-edge AI tools to drive their litigation strategies. We have established the most extensive litigation data platform in the United States, designed to enable legal professionals to uncover insights with unprecedented speed, make more informed decisions, and ultimately achieve greater success in their cases. We are actively seeking an exceptional Senior Product Manager, ideally with a background as an Attorney, to spearhead our docket and case search offerings. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of agentic AI-powered search tools specifically tailored for the complexities of litigation.
  • • This position demands a unique blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution. You will leverage your deep understanding of litigation, informed by your legal education and practical experience, combined with your product management acumen, to conceptualize and design intelligent research experiences. The goal is to fundamentally transform how legal professionals interact with and derive value from legal information. Operating at the dynamic intersection of law and artificial intelligence, you will lead a dedicated team in delivering advanced tools that transcend traditional keyword-based search. Our focus is on creating adaptive, context-aware agents that proactively anticipate and address the evolving needs of attorneys.
  • • As the owner of our docket search products, you will be responsible for defining and driving a long-term strategic vision for innovation. Simultaneously, you will meticulously plan and execute the roadmap for the next 6 to 12 months, working closely with our engineering teams to bring these advancements to life. This includes the critical task of defining and delivering AI-based agentic search capabilities that provide not only relevant information but also crucial context, logical reasoning, and actionable insights to support legal decision-making.
  • • A core aspect of this role involves close collaboration with our engineering and data science teams. Together, you will push the boundaries of modern search technologies, exploring and implementing novel approaches to information retrieval and analysis. Your legal expertise will be indispensable in ensuring that our AI-powered features accurately reflect real-world litigation workflows, providing outputs that are not only intelligent but also trustworthy and reliable for legal professionals.
  • • You will be instrumental in leading discovery and validation efforts, engaging directly with litigators, knowledge workers, and librarians. These interactions are vital for refining existing features, validating new concepts, and identifying emerging opportunities within the legal tech landscape. The insights gained will directly inform product development and strategic direction.
  • • A key responsibility will be to define and track success metrics that go beyond simple usage statistics. We aim to measure the tangible impact of our products on attorneys' ability to prepare cases effectively, demonstrating the real-world value and efficiency gains our platform provides. This data-driven approach will guide continuous improvement and innovation.
  • • Furthermore, you will serve as a key external representative of our product vision. This includes engaging in thought leadership activities within the legal tech and AI communities, sharing insights, and contributing to the broader conversation about the future of legal innovation. This external engagement will help build UniCourt's reputation and attract talent and customers alike.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of how attorneys approach case strategy, from initial research to final arguments. This deep empathy for the user's journey is crucial for building products that truly resonate and deliver value. You will be passionate about identifying and rectifying the shortcomings of current in-market solutions for finding past cases and extracting insights from them, driving a clear mandate for improvement and innovation.
  • • Your success will be measured by your ability to foster a collaborative environment, inspiring engineering and design teams to achieve ambitious goals. You will champion user-centric design principles, ensuring that every feature and enhancement is built with the end-user's needs and workflows at the forefront. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of legal technology, making a significant impact on how justice is pursued and administered through data and AI.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of experience independently leading a user-facing web-based product.
  • • 5+ years of litigation experience or extensive experience working directly with litigators and understanding their workflows.
  • • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is strongly preferred.
  • • Deep understanding of litigation workflows and how attorneys approach case strategy.
  • • Familiarity with search, AI/ML, or natural language processing technologies.
