đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Product Manager for Property Tax Optimization at Kin Insurance, you will build and own a new product line from the ground up, directly impacting homeowners’ ability to reduce one of their largest recurring expenses—property taxes—by leading end-to-end development, operations, and P&L ownership for a high-impact fintech-proptech initiative.
- • You will define the product roadmap from MVP to scale, design the full customer journey for tax appeals (from submission to savings delivery), collaborate with engineering and design to ship iteratively, establish operational workflows including contractor management and quality control, shape pricing models using data, represent the product in leadership forums, and partner with growth, legal, and CX teams to ensure market fit and compliance.
- • Kin Insurance is a remote-first, mission-driven fintech and insurtech company founded in 2016, serving homeowners in 13+ states with a focus on affordability, climate resilience, and customer empowerment; recognized as a Great Place to Work, Forbes’ Fintech 50, and Inc. 5000, Kin fosters a culture of ownership, lean innovation, and data-driven decision-making where employees are empowered to act like owners and challenge industry norms.
- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in property tax appeals processes, operationalize a scalable contractor network, drive measurable homeowner savings and unit economics, and grow as a general manager-leader by owning P&L, influencing cross-functional strategy, and delivering a zero-to-one product that aligns with Kin’s mission to make homeownership more affordable and fair.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5–10 years of professional experience, including 3+ years in product management at a proptech or fintech company
- • Hands-on experience at a property tax optimization firm (e.g., Ownwell, O’Connor, or similar), with direct knowledge of the appeals process beyond theoretical understanding
- • Proven ability to build from scratch in zero-to-one environments, including defining roadmaps, shaping pricing models, managing operational workflows, and owning P&L for new product lines
- • Strong project management, agile execution, and stakeholder influence skills, with experience working closely with engineering, design, legal, and growth teams in fast-paced, startup settings
- • Comfort using AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, and product development, combined with a general manager mindset focused on margins, acquisition costs, retention, and business outcomes
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote-first work flexibility with the option to collaborate in Kin’s offices in Chicago, IL and St. Petersburg, FL
- • Access to comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans, plus 401(k) with company match
- • Generous paid time off, company holidays, and parental leave policies designed to support work-life integration
- • Professional development stipend and opportunities to attend industry conferences and training
- • Equity participation as part of compensation, aligning employee success with Kin’s long-term growth and mission
