- • As a Senior Product Manager for NerdWallet’s Small and Medium Business (SMB) vertical, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of financial tools and insights for millions of entrepreneurs. Your mission will be to empower small business owners with the knowledge, resources, and technology they need to make astute financial decisions, navigate complex financial landscapes, and ultimately build thriving, sustainable businesses. This role is at the forefront of a critical mission, as small businesses are the backbone of the American economy, fueling job creation and strengthening communities. You will be a key player in delivering advice and technology that simplifies financial choices across lending, banking, and financial management, directly contributing to the success of these vital enterprises.
- • You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle for your designated area within the SMB portfolio. This encompasses the entire journey from initial discovery and ideation through to successful launch and continuous post-launch optimization. Your responsibilities will include deeply understanding customer needs through rigorous research and analysis, defining clear business objectives, and establishing measurable success metrics that align with NerdWallet's strategic goals. You will translate these insights and objectives into comprehensive product roadmaps, detailed functional requirements, and actionable execution plans that guide cross-functional teams.
- • Collaboration is central to this role. You will work hand-in-hand with talented engineering, design, data, analytics, and go-to-market partners to bring innovative solutions to life. This partnership requires balancing a compelling long-term product vision with thoughtful, agile execution, always with an eye toward delivering measurable business outcomes and exceptional customer experiences. You will be responsible for building, testing, and launching features that not only enhance the customer journey but also drive significant business performance improvements. Furthermore, you will contribute to the development of scalable systems designed to support sophisticated, personalized acquisition, retention, and cross-sell strategies, ensuring our products meet the evolving needs of SMBs.
- • A data-driven approach is paramount. You will leverage customer feedback, market research, and performance data to continuously evaluate product effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and refine strategic priorities. Your ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable product insights will be critical. You will also be responsible for clearly and effectively communicating the product vision, strategy, progress, learnings, and results to a wide range of stakeholders, including executive leadership, ensuring organizational alignment and transparency.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation within the SMB space. You will be expected to identify and validate new product opportunities by conducting thorough competitive analysis, engaging in deep customer research, and employing rapid experimentation methodologies. Your strategic thinking will be key in defining the product roadmap and vision for your area, ensuring it aligns seamlessly with both customer needs and overarching company objectives. You will champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring that user needs are at the heart of every product decision, and translate these needs into tangible, impactful product features.
- • You will foster a culture of executional excellence within the SMB team. This involves creating best practices, developing playbooks for common challenges, and contributing to a high-performing, collaborative environment. Your leadership will extend to ensuring transparency across teams, building organizational clarity, and fostering trust through open communication about progress, learnings, and roadmaps. Ultimately, you will be a driving force in helping small business owners achieve their ambitions by providing them with the best possible financial tools and guidance.
