đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Product Manager for Student Experiences at MagicSchool Inc., you will lead the development of student-facing AI-powered features that empower learners to engage, create, and grow responsibly within a trusted educational ecosystem. This role is critical to scaling MagicSchool’s impact beyond educators to directly serve over 7 million students globally, ensuring that AI enhances learning outcomes while upholding safety, equity, and pedagogical integrity.
- • You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle for MagicSchool Student, from discovery and ideation through launch and iteration, translating complex educational needs into intuitive, age-appropriate digital experiences that align with classroom workflows, district compliance standards, and evolving AI ethics frameworks.
- • You will partner closely with engineering, design, user research, Trust & Safety, and enterprise teams to balance innovation with safeguards, ensuring features are not only engaging and effective but also compliant with FERPA, COPPA, and state-specific educational regulations across K–12 environments.
- • You will define and track key success metrics—including student activation, feature adoption, retention, time-on-task, and learning impact—to inform data-driven roadmap decisions and demonstrate measurable educational value to educators, administrators, and stakeholders.
- • You will advocate for student voice in product development by integrating qualitative insights from user testing, classroom observations, and feedback loops with educators and learners, ensuring solutions are grounded in real-world pedagogical needs rather than assumptions.
- • You will mentor junior product managers and contribute to a culture of excellence by championing MagicSchool’s core values—especially Responsibility, Joy and Magic, and Excellence—while helping shape the future of ethical AI in education through thoughtful, impact-driven product leadership.
- • You will operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup environment where ambiguity is common, and your ability to prioritize strategically, communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences, and execute with urgency will directly influence the product’s scalability and social impact.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of product management experience with ownership of consumer or user-facing digital products, preferably in education, edtech, or youth-focused domains.
- • Proven ability to collaborate deeply with engineering and design teams to translate user needs into scalable, intuitive product experiences, including hands-on experience with AI-powered features such as prompt engineering and model evaluation frameworks.
- • Demonstrated track record of navigating ambiguous problem spaces in fast-paced, startup environments while delivering high-impact, user-centered solutions that balance innovation with safety, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- • Experience working in K–12 education technology environments, including familiarity with educator workflows, district procurement processes, and regulatory frameworks like FERPA and COPPA.
- • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders—including educators, administrators, Trust & Safety, and enterprise teams—around shared product goals.
- • Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in using both qualitative insights (user interviews, usability testing) and quantitative data (metrics, analytics) to inform product decisions and measure learning impact.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Unlimited time off policy to support work-life balance and employee well-being, reflecting our trust in team members to manage their time responsibly.
- • Employer-paid health insurance plans with low-cost dental and vision options, ensuring comprehensive coverage for employees and their families.
- • Generous stock option grants vesting over four years, allowing employees to share in the company’s long-term success and growth.
- • 401(k) retirement plan with company match and a monthly wellness stipend to support physical and mental health.
- • Fully remote work flexibility, enabling collaboration across time zones while fostering a culture built on trust, communication, and relationship-driven teamwork.
- • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge generative AI technology that directly advances educational equity, access, and personalized learning for millions of students and educators worldwide.
