đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Product Security Consultant at Rapid7, you will play a critical role in helping organizations strengthen their security posture by deploying and optimizing Rapid7’s product suite to meet complex compliance and risk management needs. This post-sales role bridges technical implementation with strategic advisory, ensuring customers not only deploy tools effectively but also build sustainable, mature security programs grounded in best practices.
- • You will evaluate diverse customer IT architectures across industries, assess security requirements, and lead the end-to-end deployment of Rapid7 solutions—including vulnerability management, SIEM, and cloud security tools—while advising on optimal configurations, automation, and reporting workflows tailored to each environment.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include documenting and communicating technical designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, scripting custom integrations using Python or PowerShell to automate data flows and dashboarding, and leveraging SQL to extract and analyze security data for actionable insights.
- • You will collaborate closely with sales teams during the pre-sales cycle to scope engagements, provide technical validation, and ensure smooth handoffs post-sale, while also creating and maintaining internal enablement materials, tooling, and best practice guides for fellow consultants and cross-functional partners.
- • A key aspect of the role involves troubleshooting complex deployment challenges in heterogeneous environments—spanning on-premises, cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), and hybrid infrastructures—applying deep knowledge of networking protocols (DHCP, DNS, HTTP, etc.) and OS-level administration (Windows Server, Linux, macOS) to resolve issues and ensure successful product adoption.
- • You will act as a trusted advisor, translating intricate technical findings into clear, prioritized remediation guidance for executives, IT teams, and compliance officers, fostering long-term customer trust and enabling continuous improvement in their security programs.
- • The Security Consulting team at Rapid7 is a global, mission-driven collective of seasoned security professionals who combine deep technical expertise with consultative selling to help customers maximize the value of their security investments. Operating with a startup mindset within an established leader, the team emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning—regularly sharing insights across regions to refine methodologies and elevate service delivery.
- • Rapid7 protects over 11,000+ organizations worldwide and has been at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation for two decades, combining vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response capabilities into an integrated platform that empowers organizations to anticipate, detect, and respond to threats with confidence.
- • In this role, you will develop advanced consulting and technical leadership skills, gaining exposure to diverse enterprise environments and evolving threat landscapes, positioning you to become a trusted security advisor capable of driving strategic security initiatives and influencing organizational risk posture at the highest levels.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on technical experience with security technologies including SIEM/log management, GRC, IAM, IDS/IPS, APT defense, antivirus, and vulnerability management platforms.
- • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python or PowerShell) and SQL, with proven experience interacting with APIs to automate security workflows, generate custom reports, and build dashboards.
- • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical and security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives and compliance stakeholders.
- • Strong understanding of core networking technologies and protocols (DHCP, IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.) and hands-on experience administering Windows Server, Linux, and/or macOS environments.
- • Practical experience deploying, managing, and securing virtual machines and cloud-based workloads across major platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- • Willingness to travel up to 30% to customer sites as needed for engagements requiring on-site support.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive annual salary range of $89,300 to $120,700 USD, based on experience, skills, and certifications, with additional variable/incentive compensation, equity, and benefits available where eligible.
- • Fully remote work flexibility within the United States, enabling you to contribute from any location while collaborating with a globally distributed team of security experts.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans, along with 401(k) retirement savings options and paid time off to support your well-being and work-life balance.
- • Access to ongoing professional development, internal training programs, and certifications to deepen your expertise in cybersecurity and consulting methodologies.
- • Opportunity to work with cutting-edge security technologies and influence real-world security outcomes for a diverse portfolio of enterprise customers across industries.
- • Inclusive, equitable workplace culture committed to diversity, belonging, and fair compensation practices, where all qualified applicants are considered without regard to protected characteristics.
