Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the full product development lifecycle for Babylist’s Owned Brands portfolio, including apparel, textiles, nursery, and storage & organization products, from concept sign-off through bulk delivery.
- • Lead end-to-end production planning and execution across multiple soft goods categories, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery while meeting financial and operational targets.
- • Build and maintain scalable production workflows and documentation to support growing complexity and volume across the Owned Brands portfolio.
- • Directly manage and deepen strategic relationships with overseas manufacturers, textile mills, and nursery suppliers, distinguishing between true partners and transactional vendors.
- • Lead independent costing negotiations with factories, owning the financial conversation to align product costs with Merchandising and Director-level financial targets.
- • Proactively identify and mitigate portfolio-wide production risks before they escalate, using data and market signals to close gaps ahead of deadlines.
- • Serve as the critical bridge between Design, Merchandising, Planning, and Compliance teams, translating technical construction details into commercial outcomes and vice versa.
- • Collaborate closely with the Compliance team to ensure all products meet applicable safety and regulatory standards, including CPSC requirements for juvenile products.
- • Translate production insights into actionable recommendations for inventory planning, replenishment cycles, and ordering strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
- • Develop deep factory intelligence—understanding each supplier’s capabilities, capacity, and quality thresholds—and proactively share these insights with Design and Merchandising to inform product opportunities.
- • Embed AI tools into daily production workflows as a standard practice, leveraging technology to improve efficiency, forecasting, and decision-making across the supply chain.
- • Drive continuous improvement of product quality and performance post-launch by analyzing customer feedback, return rates, and operational data to inform iterative design and production updates.
- • Maintain accountability for category-level outcomes, setting roadmaps and making final decisions when trade-offs arise between cost, quality, timeline, and design intent.
- • Ensure all production activities align with Babylist’s mission to build trusted, high-impact products that support expecting and new families.

- • Proven ability to lead costing negotiations independently with factories and suppliers
- • Fluency in communicating across creative (design) and commercial (merchandising, planning) teams
- • Experience with juvenile products or CPSC compliance requirements (bonus)
