• • **Own the backbone of Real’s AI-driven real estate platform.** As a Senior Python Developer on our Machine Learning team, you will architect and deliver the backend services that power every intelligent feature our agents and clients rely on—from lightning-fast property recommendations to real-time market insights. Your code will directly influence how 100,000+ agents across the U.S., Canada, and D.C. close deals faster and smarter.
• • **Turn cutting-edge ML research into production reality.** You will partner daily with ML engineers and data scientists to productionize transformer-based models, vector-search engines, and streaming data pipelines. Expect to translate experimental notebooks into fault-tolerant microservices that scale to millions of property records while keeping latency under 100 ms.
• • **Design for global scale and zero downtime.** Build cloud-native, event-driven architectures on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS) that auto-scale during peak listing seasons and self-heal when traffic spikes. You’ll define API contracts, choose the right data stores (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Pinecone), and implement caching layers that shave seconds off every request.
• • **Champion CI/CD excellence.** Own the full deployment lifecycle—from Git hooks to blue-green releases—using GitHub Actions, Docker, and Kubernetes. You’ll write infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation), enforce automated testing gates, and roll back bad deployments in minutes, not hours.
• • **Mentor and multiply team impact.** Lead code reviews, pair-programming sessions, and brown-bag talks that raise the bar for Python craftsmanship across the org. Coach junior developers on async patterns, clean architecture, and performance profiling, turning them into confident contributors.
• • **Optimize data pipelines that ingest terabytes daily.** Integrate Meltano or Airbyte connectors that pull MLS feeds, public records, and click-stream events into our lakehouse. You’ll tune Airflow DAGs, enforce schema contracts, and ensure GDPR-compliant retention policies.
• • **Obsess over observability.** Instrument services with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana dashboards that alert on SLIs before users notice. You’ll conduct post-mortems, implement chaos-engineering drills, and drive a culture where every outage becomes a learning artifact.
• • **Stay ahead of the curve.** Allocate 10 % of your time to R&D spikes—whether that’s evaluating Rust for ultra-low-latency services, experimenting with LangChain agents, or prototyping serverless vector databases. Your discoveries will shape our technical roadmap for 2025 and beyond.
