• • The Junior Infrastructure Software Engineer (New Grad) role at Asana in Reykjavik is designed for early-career engineers passionate about building reliable, scalable systems that power Asana’s web, mobile, and API platforms. This role matters because it directly supports the foundation of Asana’s product — ensuring security, performance, and availability for millions of users worldwide.
• • Day to day, you will deploy and operate existing infrastructure systems, contribute to building new services, collaborate with global teams across time zones, participate in technical boot camps to master Asana’s engineering standards, and gradually take ownership of specific technical domains through the Areas of Responsibility (AoR) system. You will also engage in on-call rotations after training to maintain production system reliability.
• • Asana’s Infrastructure team is a world-class group of engineers focused on blending industry best practices with innovation to support a product-driven company. Based in Reykjavik with an office-centric hybrid schedule (in-office Mon, Tue, Thu; optional remote Wed; case-by-case Fri), you’ll partner with teams in San Francisco, New York, and Warsaw to advance service-oriented architecture and cloud-native practices.
• • In this role, you will learn to design, develop, and operate cloud-based services on AWS, write high-quality maintainable code, adopt operational excellence practices, and grow into a trusted engineer capable of owning production systems. You’ll be mentored, participate in structured learning programs, and gain hands-on experience with modern tooling and frameworks that enable other engineering teams to move faster and more safely.
