- • Join the Identity Core squad to own and evolve Perk’s authentication and authorization systems, serving as the foundational security layer for 10,000+ global customers.
- • Design, build, and maintain scalable identity solutions that support SSO, enterprise provisioning, and developer-facing APIs while ensuring seamless integration across all squads.
- • Architect secure, evolvable systems with deep attention to performance, failure isolation, security boundaries, and long-term maintainability of the identity stack.
- • Implement operational security practices including secrets hygiene, dependency risk management, and proactive threat modeling as core engineering responsibilities, not compliance checkboxes.
- • Define and uphold technical standards for CI/CD, testing (including security testing), and coding practices across the engineering organization.
- • Lead observability and on-call practices for security-critical systems by defining SLOs, managing incident response, and conducting blameless post-mortems.
- • Act as a technical leader by mentoring engineers, providing thoughtful code reviews, and modeling security-first engineering behaviors in daily work.
- • Contribute to engineering guilds and cross-squad initiatives to establish consistent identity patterns and best practices across the entire organization.
- • Write detailed design documents for major changes to the authentication platform, balancing security rigor with developer experience and ease of adoption.
- • Collaborate closely with platform and security teams to set the organizational standard for identity handling and drive solution discovery for enterprise-scale auth challenges.
- • Leverage AI-augmented workflows daily — using AI tools integrated into Jira, GitHub, Slack, and Notion for feature specification, code generation, review, and automated PR analysis.
- • Embrace agentic coding practices where AI acts as an active collaborator in the development lifecycle, not just a passive assistant.
- • Participate in coding interviews using AI tools, demonstrating proficiency in modern AI-driven development workflows.
- • Drive the identity roadmap alongside product and engineering managers to align technical execution with business goals around scalability, security, and developer experience.
- • Ensure the identity platform is designed as a developer platform: clear abstractions, well-documented APIs, and intuitive tooling for internal teams.
- • Maintain a security-first mindset in every decision, treating system reliability and user trust as non-negotiable priorities.
- • Work in-person three days per week at Perk’s Barcelona office, collaborating directly with cross-functional teams to foster connectivity, creativity, and productivity.
- • Contribute to a global engineering culture that values curiosity, ownership, and mindset over rigid experience requirements.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience architecting scalable, secure authentication and authorization systems at enterprise scale
- • Deep understanding of identity protocols (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML) and token lifecycle management
- • Demonstrated ability to lead security-first engineering practices including threat modeling, secrets hygiene, and dependency risk management
- • Experience designing and maintaining developer-facing identity platforms with clear APIs and documentation
- • Strong backend engineering skills in building complex systems involving API design, caching, and high-volume data models
- • Experience with AI-augmented development workflows and agentic coding tools
