📋 Description
- • The Senior Regulatory Specialist at Clorox serves as a strategic regulatory partner for the Burt’s Bees business, playing a critical role in ensuring compliance with global regulations while enabling innovation and accelerating time-to-market for personal care and over-the-counter (OTC) drug products. This role is essential to driving profitable growth, structural margin expansion, and value creation through regulatory excellence and transformation initiatives.
- • Day to day, the Specialist independently leads regulatory activities for cosmetics, personal care, and OTC products, representing the Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PS&RA) function on cross-functional project teams to ensure timely execution and compliance. They develop and execute regulatory strategies aligned with business goals, analyze and interpret regulatory data to provide strategic recommendations, identify risks and mitigation strategies, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of State and Federal reporting requirements such as California Safe Cosmetics SB 312, CDER, and Cosmetics Direct.
- • In documentation and communication, the role involves preparing and reviewing regulatory documentation including ingredient assessments, formula reviews, product dossiers, claims, packaging labels, and marketing materials. The Specialist translates complex regulatory and technical information into clear, actionable guidance for internal stakeholders, communicates effectively with internal teams and external partners including regulatory authorities and industry groups, and contributes to the development and management of compliance files within the Regulatory Information Management System.
- • Cross-functional collaboration is central to the role, requiring leadership in partnering with R&D, Legal, Quality, and Marketing teams throughout the product lifecycle—from concept to commercialization. The Specialist provides ongoing regulatory guidance, mentors junior team members, and helps build regulatory capability across the organization by sharing knowledge and best practices.
- • Externally, the Specialist represents Clorox in trade associations and regulatory working groups, defines and teaches regulatory best practices within the team and broader organization, and stays current on evolving global regulatory landscapes to ensure proactive compliance and innovation support.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline such as Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Toxicology.
- • 7+ years of regulatory experience in the CPG industry, with at least 3+ years specifically in cosmetic and personal care.
- • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations including the FD&C Act and MOCRA, global regulatory frameworks (EU, Canada, Asia), and OTC drug regulations/monographs.
- • Proven ability to lead project regulatory strategies and influence cross-functional teams.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- • Results-driven mindset with excellent operational skills in planning, organization, and attention to detail.
- • Ability to develop effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
