  • • As a Senior Relationship Manager, Commercial at KeyCorp, you will be the cornerstone of our client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted Financial Advisor for our valued commercial clients.
  • • This pivotal role is accountable for spearheading all facets of business development and comprehensive relationship management within a designated geographic territory, driving growth and client success.
  • • You will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative environment, working closely with fellow bankers and product partners to conceptualize and deliver innovative solutions precisely tailored to meet the unique and evolving needs of our clients.
  • • A key responsibility includes directing the seamless implementation of proposed strategic plans, ensuring that our clients receive the highest caliber of service and support.
  • • Your ultimate objective will be to drive robust financial performance through a strategic focus on profitable cash management and deposit growth, the cultivation of high-quality credit relationships, and the provision of expert strategic advisory services.
  • • You will act as the primary "expert" for the Commercial Banking client, managing strategic issues that span capital raising, navigating complex regulatory compliance landscapes, facilitating ownership transition planning, advising on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), optimizing revenue cycle management, and addressing a myriad of other critical business challenges.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve educating clients on KeyBank's extensive expertise and capabilities across our core product areas, including sophisticated cash management solutions, derivatives, equipment finance, and a wide array of other essential financial services.
  • • You will be expected to maintain a proactive and consistent prospecting strategy, encompassing the identification, qualification, and active engagement of potential new clients.
  • • Developing and nurturing a robust Center of Influence (COI) referral network will be crucial for expanding our reach and identifying new opportunities.
  • • You will be adept at identifying cross-sell opportunities, collaborating seamlessly with Community Bankers and Product Specialists to structure, coordinate, and champion both credit and non-credit products and services that add significant value to our clients.
  • • Continuous professional development is key; you will be committed to enhancing your functional and technical sales and credit expertise, and effectively transferring this knowledge to team members.
  • • Partnering effectively with Credit Officers will be essential, serving as the first level of sponsorship for credit decisions and ensuring the integrity of our lending practices.
  • • You will have the opportunity to assemble and lead dynamic cross-functional teams to rapidly address customer requests when they fall outside your immediate purview, demonstrating strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • • A critical aspect of the role involves leading credit processes, meticulously ensuring asset quality through expert underwriting, strategic structuring, and diligent portfolio management.
  • • You will be responsible for preparing comprehensive Asset Quality Reports and utilizing Risk Rating models to ensure accurate and insightful risk assessment.
  • • Mentoring junior Relationship Managers will be a rewarding part of your role, contributing significantly to the development of team capabilities and overall performance.
  • • You will lead strategic client reviews, proactively delivering valuable insights and actionable recommendations that are precisely aligned with each client's unique goals and objectives.
  • • Contributing to the strategic planning and overarching initiatives of the commercial team will be vital for shaping the future direction of our business.
  • • Maximizing the profitability of your assigned portfolio by effectively articulating and selling the distinct value that KeyBank provides will be a primary driver of your success.

  • • Designing and negotiating complex financial solutions that align with client needs and the bank’s risk and profitability standards will be a core competency.
  • • Systematically evaluating the likelihood and impact of risks and identifying leading indicators to support informed decision-making and protect both the client’s and the bank’s interests is essential.
  • • The role is located in either Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Diego, California, and involves occasional travel, including overnight stays, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.
