📋 Description
- • Senior Rust Engineer role at NextLink Labs LLC, a fast-growing technology firm specializing in building, scaling, and securing software applications for clients across industries. This position is critical to delivering secure, high-performance backend systems that enable client success through expert consulting and custom development.
- • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Rust, with direct client engagement to demonstrate progress, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with business goals in an agile, remote-first environment.
- • Collaborate within a distributed team of engineers to architect modular, well-structured solutions using workspace crates (model, domain, data, service), applying Clean Architecture, CQRS, event sourcing, and actor-based concurrency patterns to build resilient, observable systems.
- • Build and optimize gRPC services for inter-service communication, data access layers for relational (e.g., PostgreSQL), time-series (e.g., TimescaleDB), and graph databases (e.g., Neo4j), while implementing security best practices including JWT-based authentication and authorization.
- • Participate in daily stand-ups, weekly agile meetings, code reviews, and observability initiatives using Tracing and OpenTelemetry to ensure system reliability, performance, and maintainability across client engagements.
- • Contribute to technical excellence by mentoring peers, advocating for clean code and testing practices (unit, integration, BDD with Cucumber), and driving ownership of features from design through deployment and monitoring.
- • Work remotely with flexible hours as part of a company that values clarity, autonomy, and outcomes, offering the opportunity to grow technically while solving complex distributed systems challenges for diverse clients.
- • Develop deep expertise in modern Rust ecosystem tools including Tokio, SQLx, Axum, Dapr, Kafka, and Kubernetes (AKS), while gaining exposure to enterprise-grade observability platforms like Grafana and Azure Monitor/Application Insights.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience building backend services, with at least 2-3 years of production systems development in Rust
- • Strong understanding of Clean Architecture, CQRS, Event Sourcing, and actor-based concurrency patterns
- • Proficiency with relational, time-series, and graph databases, including preferred experience with TimescaleDB and Neo4j
- • Experience designing and implementing gRPC APIs; familiarity with Tonic is a plus
- • Strong testing practices including unit and integration testing; familiarity with BDD frameworks like Cucumber is a plus
- • Understanding of security best practices including JWT-based authentication and authorization
- • Familiarity with observability principles and experience with OpenTelemetry preferred
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote-first culture with flexible work schedule and autonomy to do your best work
