- • As a Senior Applications Engineer at Novanta Inc., you will play a pivotal role at the dynamic intersection of cutting-edge engineering, strategic sales, and forward-thinking product development. This position is instrumental in shaping innovative customer solutions and directly influencing the trajectory of new product development within our Robotics & Automation business.
- • You will be the technical expert responsible for ensuring our advanced precision motion and robotic technologies are seamlessly and effectively deployed across a diverse spectrum of critical applications, including surgical robotics, sophisticated warehouse automation, advanced 3D metal printing, precision semiconductor tools, and complex industrial automation systems.
- • This role is ideally suited for a highly motivated individual who possesses a dual aptitude for conducting in-depth technical analysis and engaging effectively in customer-facing scenarios, bridging the gap between complex technical capabilities and real-world business needs.
- • A core responsibility will be to collaborate closely with the Sales team, acting as a technical advisor to deeply understand intricate customer requirements and subsequently recommend optimized, tailored solutions that leverage Novanta's technological strengths.
- • You will be tasked with the crucial function of translating complex, often nuanced, customer needs and application challenges into clear, actionable engineering specifications that guide product design and modification.
- • This role involves active participation in the prototyping, rigorous testing, and thorough validation phases of new designs, ensuring they meet both performance benchmarks and customer expectations.
- • As a Senior Engineer, you are expected to mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and elevating the overall technical acumen and problem-solving capabilities across the applications engineering team.
- • You will be responsible for articulating the unique value propositions of Novanta's technologies to a wide range of stakeholders, adeptly communicating complex technical benefits to both highly technical audiences and non-technical business decision-makers.
- • Providing hands-on, expert support for both pre-sales technical engagements—helping to define and scope projects—and post-sales technical support—ensuring successful implementation and customer satisfaction—will be a key aspect of your contribution.
- • You will work cross-functionally with Product Management, R&D, and Sales teams to provide critical market and application feedback that shapes the direction of new product development and drives continuous improvement in application performance.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with state-of-the-art robotics and automation technologies that are actively shaping the future of these rapidly evolving industries.
- • You will experience the satisfaction of blending deep technical engineering expertise with tangible, real-world impact, influencing the design and deployment of products utilized on a global scale.
- • The opportunity to collaborate with a team of world-class engineers specializing in high-precision mechanical, electromechanical, and opto-mechanical systems provides a rich environment for professional development and knowledge sharing.
- • Gain global exposure by contributing to the development and application of technologies across multiple diverse industries, broadening your experience and understanding of market needs.
- • Immerse yourself in a culture that actively promotes continuous innovation, lifelong learning, and the pursuit of technical mastery in the field of robotics and automation.
- • Contribute to a meaningful mission: enabling the development of robots that enhance surgical safety, optimize manufacturing processes, and increase the overall capability and efficiency of automation solutions worldwide.
- • This position is fully remote within the United States, offering flexibility and the ability to work from your preferred location while contributing to a leading global technology company.
- • You will be an integral part of Novanta's commitment to engineering excellence, driving innovation, and delivering products that consistently redefine the boundaries of what is possible in precision motion and robotics.
