Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the end-to-end design, implementation, and optimization of Intercom’s global sales compensation programs for a rapidly scaling SaaS business that is redefining how AI powers customer service.
  • • Partner directly with Sales, Finance, RevOps, and People teams to translate aggressive revenue targets into clear, motivating incentive structures that reward high performance and accelerate ARR growth.
  • • Build and maintain sophisticated commission models in Xactly or similar ICM tools, ensuring every rep—from SDR to Enterprise AE—understands exactly how they get paid and can forecast their earnings in real time.
  • • Conduct deep-dive quota and territory analyses to ensure targets are challenging yet achievable, balancing market opportunity, rep capacity, and company growth objectives across North America, EMEA, and APAC.
  • • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual compensation cycles with military precision—validating data integrity, calculating payouts, and delivering executive-ready dashboards that surface insights on attainment, cost of sales, and ROI.
  • • Drive continuous process automation; eliminate manual spreadsheets, reduce close cycles by 30%, and implement self-service reporting that empowers frontline managers to run their own “what-if” scenarios.
  • • Serve as the trusted advisor to Sales leadership during planning season, modeling the financial impact of new product launches, pricing changes, and segmentation strategies on comp plans and attainment rates.
  • • Monitor external benchmarks and internal pay equity to keep Intercom’s OTE competitive in the top quartile of the SaaS market while maintaining internal fairness and compliance with global pay-transparency regulations.
  • • Design SPIFFs and short-term incentives that ignite focus on strategic initiatives—whether that’s landing net-new logos, expanding existing accounts, or accelerating adoption of AI-powered Resolution Bot.
  • • Partner with Legal and Accounting to ensure ASC 606 compliance, commission expense accounting, and SOX controls are airtight, turning audits into non-events.
  • • Build a center-of-excellence playbook that scales with headcount; train new analysts, document best practices, and create Slack channels where reps can ask “how does this deal affect my comp?” and get an instant, accurate answer.
  • • Translate complex compensation mechanics into crisp narratives for board decks, all-hands slides, and enablement sessions so that every stakeholder—from CFO to SDR—understands the “why” behind every lever.
  • • Champion a culture of transparency and trust; run quarterly roundtables where reps can challenge plan mechanics, surface edge cases, and co-create solutions that raise attainment and morale.
  • • Leverage SQL, Tableau, and Salesforce to stitch together opportunity, usage, and billing data, uncovering hidden revenue leakage and recommending plan tweaks that recover millions in ARR.
  • • Stay ahead of the curve on AI-driven comp design—experiment with predictive models that forecast rep attrition risk and dynamically adjust accelerators to retain top talent.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years designing and administering variable compensation plans in high-growth B2B SaaS environments with $100M+ ARR.
  • • Expert-level proficiency in Xactly, CaptivateIQ, or similar ICM platform plus advanced Excel, SQL, and Salesforce reporting.
  • • Deep understanding of ASC 606, SOX controls, and global pay-equity regulations.
  • • Demonstrated success partnering with Sales, Finance, and RevOps to translate strategic goals into motivating incentive structures.
  • • Nice-to-have: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; experience with AI/ML-driven forecasting tools.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote-first culture with quarterly off-sites in inspiring global locations.
  • • Competitive OTE + equity package placing you in the top quartile of the SaaS market.
  • • Annual $2,000 education stipend and 4-week paid sabbatical after 4 years.
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and mental-wellness coverage for you and dependents.
