Your role is critical in translating complex customer needs into robust, tailored solutions that drive revenue and ensure customer success.
- • You will act as a trusted advisor across all levels of an account, from C-suite executives to technical stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and demonstrating deep understanding of their business objectives and challenges.
- • This position demands a proactive and strategic approach to territory planning, account strategy development, and sales plan execution, often in collaboration with sales managers and specialist resources.
- • You will be instrumental in identifying and developing new business opportunities within your assigned territory, leveraging your technical expertise and market insights.
- • A key responsibility involves anticipating technology trends and proactively building positive relationships with external partners and internal departments, including sales, support, business units, product management, and marketing, to ensure seamless sales campaigns and an exceptional customer experience.
- • You will independently engage with senior-level IT leadership, often without the account executive present, to thoroughly qualify and understand critical technical, financial, operational, and business issues that Commvault's comprehensive suite of products can address.
- • Developing and executing detailed, executable Technical Account Plans for all focus targets and current customers is essential, utilizing Commvault's Target Account Selling methodology to drive both open opportunities and ongoing customer satisfaction.

- • Collaborating on the creation and presentation of compelling business cases to all sponsors, including C-level executives and technical partners, will be crucial to advocating for and securing the adoption of Commvault solutions.

- • Active participation in all sales and regional meetings, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), is expected, where you will provide valuable contributions and technical leadership on various topics, including field marketing and opportunity qualification.
- • Providing technical expertise and enablement support to channel and alliance partners will be a key aspect of expanding Commvault's reach and ensuring partner success.
- • Continuous professional development is paramount; you will be expected to maintain and enhance your technical and market expertise through ongoing training, certifications, industry conferences, and self-study.
- • Keeping senior management and relevant internal groups informed of key issues and changes that may impact business results through regular business reviews and diligent Salesforce.com documentation is a critical communication responsibility.
- • You will actively contribute to product and process improvement initiatives by providing feedback to appropriate internal groups and participating in the formulation of innovative solutions.
- • This role requires the ability to work autonomously and effectively in a remote setting, managing your time and priorities to meet demanding market and customer needs.
- • You will be expected to travel up to 50% to support client engagements and business objectives.
- • The SSE is expected to possess strong competitive knowledge and a proven track record in selling, conducting POCs, and architecting data management solutions, including backup and recovery, data migration, replication, compliance, and disaster recovery.
- • You will leverage your understanding of common software licensing practices (cloud, perpetual, term, maintenance) and possess specialized knowledge in at least one major open systems operating system, hypervisor, or cloud platform.
- • Familiarity with enterprise applications such as SAP, Oracle, Exchange, db2, and SharePoint, along with a solid grasp of infrastructure technologies like storage, servers, networking, and hyper-convergence, is highly valued.
- • The role necessitates strong consultative selling skills, blending product expertise with business acumen and industry foresight, with experience in case creation and TCO modeling being significant advantages.
- • Success in penetrating and managing a minimum of three major accounts (Fortune 500-1000) demonstrates the ability to handle complex enterprise sales cycles.
- • Proficiency in using CRM tools like Salesforce.com for process facilitation and information organization is essential for maintaining an organized and efficient workflow.
