📋 Description

• As a Senior Scraping Infrastructure Engineer at Onhires Inc., you will play a critical role in enabling the company’s mission to deliver cutting-edge market intelligence to the automotive industry by architecting and maintaining resilient, large-scale data extraction systems that bypass sophisticated anti-bot mechanisms and ensure high-quality, real-time data flow.
• You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of high-volume scraping pipelines, from infrastructure design and anti-blocking strategy implementation to monitoring, optimization, and mentorship, directly impacting data reliability, system uptime, and the scalability of the platform that powers strategic decisions for global automotive clients.
• You will join a remote-first, international team of engineers at a Berlin-based scale-up experiencing rapid growth, where technical excellence, ownership, and collaboration are valued, and your contributions will shape the core infrastructure that supports the company’s competitive edge in market intelligence.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in advanced web scraping resilience, DevOps automation, and distributed systems while mentoring junior engineers and influencing technical standards — positioning yourself as a key infrastructure leader in a high-impact, data-driven organization.
• You will design and maintain the foundational infrastructure for massive asynchronous data extraction using Python-based tools like Scrapy, Playwright, and Selenium, ensuring systems remain robust against evolving website defenses through intelligent IP rotation, fingerprint management, and CAPTCHA mitigation strategies.
• You will implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify performance bottlenecks, data quality issues, and failure points, enabling rapid troubleshooting and continuous optimization of scraper reliability and throughput across global targets.
• You will develop, test, and deploy fault-tolerant scraping components with strong emphasis on asynchronous programming, HTTP protocol mastery, and seamless integration with internal and external REST APIs, ensuring efficient data ingestion pipelines that scale with business demands.
• You will drive DevOps excellence by managing containerized infrastructure with Docker, advocating for CI/CD automation, and exploring Nomad for orchestration — reducing manual overhead and increasing deployment frequency and system stability.
• You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineers to establish coding standards, improve shared tooling, and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and technical growth within the engineering team.
• You will work with both SQL and NoSQL databases to optimize data storage and retrieval for high-volume scraping outputs, ensuring efficient processing and readiness for downstream analytics and reporting workflows.
• You will operate in a fully remote-friendly environment with flexible hours, allowing you to contribute effectively from Argentina while aligning with the team’s core collaboration windows and maintaining high productivity without geographic constraints.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven, hands-on professional experience in high-volume web scraping and data extraction using Python, including production-level work with frameworks such as Scrapy, Playwright, or Selenium.
• Deep, practical expertise in anti-bot evasion techniques, including CAPTCHA solving, browser fingerprinting, IP rotation, and proxy management to maintain consistent access to target websites under aggressive blocking measures.
• Strong proficiency in asynchronous programming (e.g., asyncio), HTML parsing, browser automation, REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and experience with Docker, Linux, Git, and both SQL and NoSQL databases for data storage and pipeline integration.
