📋 Description

• As a Senior Scraping Infrastructure Engineer at Onhires Inc., you will play a pivotal role in enabling the company’s mission to deliver cutting-edge market intelligence to the automotive industry by architecting and maintaining resilient, large-scale data extraction systems that bypass sophisticated anti-bot defenses and ensure high-quality, real-time data collection at scale.
• Your work will directly impact the reliability and accuracy of critical business intelligence used by clients across the automotive sector, making you a key enabler of strategic decision-making in a fast-growing, remote-first scale-up entering its next phase of expansion.
• Day to day, you will architect, build, and maintain the core infrastructure for massive, asynchronous data extraction systems, ensuring they are resilient, scalable, and capable of handling high-volume workloads under dynamic web conditions.
• You will design, implement, and continuously optimize advanced anti-blocking strategies, including IP rotation, browser fingerprint management, CAPTCHA solving techniques, and proxy optimization to maintain consistent uptime against evolving website defenses.
• You will implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging systems using industry-standard tools to proactively detect anomalies, debug failures, and continuously improve scraper performance, data quality, and system reliability across all pipelines.
• You will develop, test, and deploy fault-tolerant web scraping components using Python and leading frameworks such as Scrapy, Playwright, and Selenium, ensuring code is maintainable, well-documented, and aligned with engineering best practices.
• You will manage and automate high-volume data ingestion pipelines, integrating scraped data with internal systems and external REST APIs, ensuring seamless data flow and transformation for downstream analytics and reporting.
• You will drive DevOps excellence by containerizing applications with Docker, managing infrastructure as code, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and leveraging Nomad (a plus) for orchestration, while advocating for automation and infrastructure reliability.
• You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineers to establish coding standards, improve shared tooling, and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
• You will contribute to a remote-first, international team culture that values autonomy, innovation, and technical depth, where your expertise will be trusted and your ideas will shape the future of the company’s data infrastructure.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in resilient web scraping at scale, gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge anti-bot evasion techniques, and grow into a technical leader who influences architecture, tooling, and best practices across the organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven, hands-on professional experience in high-volume web scraping and data extraction using Python, including production-level work with frameworks like Scrapy, Playwright, or Selenium.
• Deep, practical knowledge of anti-bot solutions, including CAPTCHA solving mechanisms, browser fingerprinting techniques, and advanced proxy/IP rotation strategies to evade detection and maintain scraping reliability.
• Solid understanding of HTML parsing, browser automation, asynchronous programming (e.g., asyncio), REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Proficiency with Docker, Linux environments, Git version control, and fluency in English (written and spoken) to collaborate effectively in an international, remote-first setting.
