- • Senior Security Engineer role focused on securing Abnormal’s FedRAMP environment, ensuring secure, resilient, and efficient operations for government systems.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing IaC and Change Control Board reviews, performing security impact analyses, running OS and infrastructure patch cycles, governing access management, tuning SIEM logging and monitoring, triaging and responding to security incidents, maintaining runbooks and SOPs, and collaborating with DevInfra, FedOps, Product, and Compliance teams.
- • Abnormal Security Corporation is a remote-first company specializing in AI-powered email security, with a strong focus on federal and regulated cloud environments, particularly through its Abnormal Gov division.
- • The role offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in federal compliance (NIST 800-53), lead security automation initiatives, influence secure development practices, and contribute to audit readiness and continuous monitoring at scale in a high-impact, mission-driven environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5–7 years in security engineering or infrastructure operations within federal or regulated cloud environments
- • Strong familiarity with NIST 800-53 controls and continuous monitoring practices
- • Hands-on expertise with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and IaC security practices
- • Experience in patch management, hardened baselines, and secure image pipelines
- • Strong knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) design and enforcement in large-scale environments
- • Proven ability to manage SIEM pipelines and lead Tier 1/Tier 2 incident response

- • Base salary range: $153,000 – $220,000 USD
