Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Security Engineer at Nabla Bio, Inc., you will play a critical role in protecting highly sensitive healthcare data processed by Nabla’s AI assistant platform, which serves over 100,000 clinicians across 130+ healthcare organizations. Your work will directly contribute to safeguarding patient privacy and enabling clinicians to focus on patient care by securing the infrastructure that powers ambient listening, documentation, and clinical workflows.
- • You will own the end-to-end operation of Nabla’s SIEM-of-record, including completing log-source onboarding (GCP audit logs, Okta, Google Workspace, GitHub, endpoint telemetry), ensuring normalization and ingest health, and establishing operational rhythms. You will build detection-as-code using Sigma, YARA-L, or scheduled queries, tune rules to minimize false positives, map them to MITRE ATT&CK, and drive MTTD to minutes for high-risk attack paths such as identity abuse and CI/CD compromise. You will lead incident response efforts, including playbook rehearsals, investigations, forensics, and breach-notification workflows with compliance.
- • You will join a newly forming security engineering team as a founding member, working directly with the Lead Security Engineer to extend security beyond SOC/SIEM into platform, cloud, application, and corporate domains. This includes hardening Google Cloud infrastructure (IAM least privilege, VPC Service Controls, GKE security, Cloud Armor) via Terraform, securing CI/CD pipelines with SAST, dependency and secrets scanning, and contributing to threat modeling for AI/LLM features. You will also collaborate with IT to strengthen identity security through Okta policy hardening, FIDO2/passkeys, SSO/SCIM, and joiner-mover-leaver automation, while integrating EDR and email-security telemetry into detection systems.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape Nabla’s security function from the ground up, gaining deep expertise in healthcare-specific security challenges, cloud-native detection engineering, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, compliance, and IT teams. You will develop leadership in detection-as-code, incident response, and cloud security posture management while working on mission-critical systems that protect patient data and support clinical innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5–8+ years in security engineering, including at least 2–3 years hands-on experience in detection engineering, SOC, or incident response
- • Proven experience writing detection rules as code (Sigma, YARA-L or equivalent) and tuning them in production
- • Python automation (event pipelines, alert enrichment, BigQuery) and Terraform
- • Incident response and forensics fundamentals; comfortable moving between IAM reviews, CI hardening PRs, and Okta policy changes
- • Excellent communication in English to work cross-functionally with engineering, compliance, and IT
- • GKE Autopilot & admission controllers, SIEM operations (Google SecOps / Elastic / Panther), or experience in healthcare / another regulated industry is a plus
🏖️ Benefits
- • Stock ownership
- • 100% healthcare coverage
- • Meal vouchers
- • Public transportation costs covered at 50%
- • Exercise class during the workday: Yoga, running, pilates, HIIT
- • Unlimited budget for book purchases
- • Culture of trust & accountability — your output matters more than your clock-in time
