  • • About the Team: You will become an integral part of our Sales Engineering team, a group that works in close synergy with our Account Executives. Operating in a crucial pre-sales capacity, this team is dedicated to developing and strategically positioning Rapid7's comprehensive suite of security solutions.   • • About the Role: As a Senior Sales Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to collaborate closely with the sales team to thoroughly understand customer challenges and effectively position Rapid7’s advanced security solutions to meet and exceed their specific needs. This will require you to possess presentation-ready, in-depth product knowledge across all Rapid7 product groups, with a particular emphasis on specialized expertise within our core security solutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • • Proactively partnering with your assigned territory sales team in a pre-sales capacity to strategically position all relevant Rapid7 solutions, ensuring they effectively address our prospects’ critical IT Security, IT Operations, and overarching business objectives.
  • • Developing a comprehensive understanding and articulating the profound value proposition of our solutions, while also conducting engaging in-person and remote product demonstrations. You will work hand-in-hand with Sales Account Executives to present the technical value proposition in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • • Serving as the primary technical point of contact for the customer throughout the entire pre-sales evaluation cycle, meticulously demonstrating how Rapid7 products directly align with and fulfill the customer’s unique business and technical requirements.
  • • Developing compelling content for and actively participating in Rapid7 seminars, industry events, and trade shows, establishing yourself as a thought leader.
  • • Engaging with our valued channel partners within the region to provide essential technical sales training and robust support for partner-led opportunities, fostering mutual success.
  • • Attending critical commercial forecast calls with the EMEA / International Team to provide strategic support to the Regional Director, contributing to overall sales strategy.
  • • Acting as a thought leader by demonstrating a broad understanding of technologies beyond the Rapid7 portfolio and providing valuable training sessions to both the Sales and Sales Engineering teams, fostering continuous learning and development.
  • • The skills and qualities you’ll bring include:
  • • A strong technical background, ideally within the Security space, coupled with an in-depth understanding of multiple Operating Systems and a wide array of Security Solutions.
  • • A solid grasp of network topology, TCP/IP network configuration, and essential network components such as firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • • Relevant industry qualifications such as CISSP, E|CH, AWS (Solutions Architect), and/or Azure certifications are highly desirable.
  • • Demonstrated expertise in key areas such as IT Security, Vulnerability Management, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, DevOps, Application Security, or Security Automation.
  • • Proven expertise in one or more major cloud environments, including but not limited to AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle Cloud.
  • • A clear understanding of the sales process, including the distinct roles and responsibilities of all involved parties.
  • • Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport and engage effectively with both highly technical and non-technical audiences. You must be adept at delivering clear, concise, and impactful presentations to large groups, irrespective of their technical background.
  • • A collaborative approach, partnering closely with Sales and Customer Success teams to align on customer needs, share critical technical insights, and ensure a seamless transition from pre-sales engagement to successful customer adoption and long-term satisfaction.
  • • The ability to take ownership of the technical strategy for opportunities within your territory, driving progress from initial engagement through the evaluation phase, while ensuring alignment with internal teams and achieving successful outcomes for the customer.
