📋 Description
- • Senior Software Development/Operations Engineer role focused on building scalable back-end systems for WEX’s Connected Fleet team, supporting modern vehicle experience tools for large fleets and transportation companies.
- • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance web applications and REST APIs using Python and Node.js; implement automated testing, optimize performance, and drive infrastructure automation via CI/CD, containerization, and cloud-native tools.
- • Collaborate with the Sawatch development team and other WEX engineering groups to deliver secure, reliable systems that reduce fraud, improve fleet efficiency, and enable data-driven decisions.
- • Opportunity to deepen expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), event-driven architectures (Kafka), and engineering best practices while mentoring peers and raising technical standards across teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5-8 years of professional experience in software engineering
- • Expertise in backend development with Python, Node.js, Go, or C++ and building/optimizing RESTful APIs and SQL
- • Experience with cloud-native environments including Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS/GCP/Azure
- • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and tools like Kafka
- • Solid understanding of web security fundamentals including authentication, authorization, and data protection
- • Clear written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative and empathetic mindset
